Oslo, Wales, New York.Welcome to the world of Subway Safari!
This funky crew came together in oslo Norway in late summer 2001, a product of G Kaas's(The God of guitar thunder) vision to bring together a hand picked bunch of musical talents that would later become the Subway Safari crew! G's master plan was to create funky tunes taking inspiration from musical channels such as Hip Hop, Rock, Funk and Reggae. The band consists of Two MC's Chief(The human-Reef) from Cwmbran Wales and Trace(The little ripster tungue twister) from The Bronx, NYC, Big G kaas on guitar, Terje(The animal) on drums and perc, Lasse(Daddy keys) on synth/organ, Erik, our last member on Bass, and Dee(The insane) on the decks. The band has also been graced by the presents of LadyT(Booty Goddess), Andre(The Giant), Tommy(The Tank,aka The cheese merchant) and Nich(Panic).
Subway Safari have played numerous kicking live shows all over Norway, with gig's such as Quart festival, Øya fest, John Dee, Cosmopolite, Nrk Tv,Garasjen,....and so on.The band has enjoyed gaining much experience through stage time and hard work, Subway have yet to be signed to a label, so if you own a label and are ready to release the beast what are you waiting for! Up to now Subway have released a 3 track single on Nobel record distribution and the album "Norwegian Blend" will be out on Monday 14. April. The band has just recorded a music video for their forth coming single Pure fucking rage.
The plans for the future are to keep playing, have a good time making music and spread good vibes where ever they go. Peace out from the Subway tribe, watch this space!
