Spider Rico

Its going swell with The Hague garage sale trash n roll sensation Spider Rico! Theyve been around since 1997 but after the many gigs they played and their first EP released by the Dutch Motorwolf) drummer Robbie couldnt handle the rough life anymore and quit.The frantic and energetic live reputation of the band spread like the plague, but it seemed that just Lennie and Dennie (both on guitar) werent enough to keep up the trash. So now with a brand new rhythm section (drummer Leffie and bass player Bassie both joined in September 2002) they are ready to rumble and roll!!! After recording a demo featuring some new songs, the ball started rollin'. Not only did Kuriosa Records release the demo on 7-inch vinyl, but within 3 months Spider Rico had been playing gigs all over Holland. They were even invited twice to play live on Radio 3, when their demo was voted demo of the year by a well-known radio program called BUZZ. The second time on Radio 3 they played at VPRO'S prominent Club 3voor12. Oor: Spider Rico is doing everything the way it's supposed to be done. Not a shaky drummer, but one who almost loosely keeps up with the brutal tempo, guitar players who know how to make pounding chords sound melodic even at break-neck speed and vocals with more balls than they can count in Detroit. Throw it on wax! Live XS: Imagine The Hives, think about filthy garagerockn roll and just try to sit still while listening to their songs. This quartet from The Hague knows how to rock! Fret (Demo of the year !): Spider Rico is constantly on the left lane and if needed they will pass other rock bands through the hard shoulder. When I tell you that the Motorwolf label offered them a deal during the early days of the band, then the expert knows that all is well. Dennie, Lennie, Bassie en Leffie may now profit from the recent garage hype, but they wont lose the conviction they had when they started back in 1997. Spider Rico got signed by LVR (June 2004) and their debut album will be released in October 2004. They are ready to shake up todays faintness in and around the Dutch scene and to convince the rest of the world of Spider Ricos interpretation of Rock n Roll
