KURIOSA RECORDS ------------- OUT NOW!!:
KUUR-009 THE NO-GOODS "WONDER/ MAUREEN" 7"
Some groups take 2 or 3 years to record an album, but these boys took over 4 years to record this perfect 45. And if the signs are not deceiving us, the earth will be shattered again with Lekkere Beat. At first touch and combustion everybody will be injected with a new dimension b-e-a-t. The Lekkere Beat comes from THE NO-GOODS, the only real beat group known to Meppel. THE NO-GOODS have been created around MARK TEN HOOR a young man from the countryside of Drenthe, who has written the most part of THE NO-GOODS songs. In all the venues where the group plays, that Lekkere Beat erupts. Everybody is getting involved in the game and has to participate: Dancing, jumping, climbing, screaming, but also intens listening.
The trademarks of THE NO-GOODS are the Outsiders matching beat and the Q65 strong lyrics. THE NO-GOODS have a born sense of losership, but are always full of inspiration. “Wonder” is the perfect example, it..s a brilliant slice of that Lekkere Beat, an outstanding sing-a-long pop beat song. “Maureen” is a song about a girl, fueled by despair as you could have guessed. The result is another fine 45 filled with Dutch garage beat you..ll have to have!
Limited to 300 copies.
KUUR-011 DE KEEFMEN 10"
Out from the ashes of the Miracle Men come DE KEEFMEN, actually it..s just the Miracle Men minus one. This 10”, their debut, has 8 killer songs filled with great garage riffs, of course the essential hint of Nederbiet and the excellent raw soul voice of the singer and the songwriter Henri. Recorded by bassplayer Peter, from No-Goods fame, at his Tapeworm Studios you..ll be assured to get that raw authentic sound.
From opener “Say we..re through”, an instant sixties driven classic to closer the soulfull moody and Otis inspired “I..ve been loving you too long” DE KEEFMEN give what you want, great songs!!! The tormented “Till the end of time” and the rave up “Told you once, told you twice” are other fine examples of their craftsmenship. DE KEEFMEN..s debut 10” is simply waiting to be played at home, in your local club at full force, so make sure you..ll get your copy.
Limited to 300 copies.
STILL AVAILABLE:
KUUR-010: THE RIPPERS – Stop me if you can/ Why dont you leave me alone 7"
From Sardinia Italy hail THE RIPPERS makers of the best snarlin garagepunk in recent years. Known for their productivity, a whole bunch of 45 and two full lengths have already appeared, and their wild no-nonsense live show. They have climbed many stage across Europe with their straight ahead beat mayhem taking no pause to breath and leaving audiences bewildered.
Kuriosa Records is proud to present two flawlessly savage songs from THE RIPPERS. The ferocious A-side STOP ME IF YOU CAN with wailin mouth harp and the pulverizing B-side WHY DONT YOU LEAVE ME ALONE. Both wild raw R&B rave ups reminiscent of Pretty Things, Tell Tale Hearts and Q65. As the man says buy, baby, buy!!
KUUR-008: THE HARA-KEE-REES - Cant stop thinking about you/ Im walkin babe 7"
After releasing two killer full lengths, Explode!!! and II, this is THE HARA-KEE-REES debut 45. Yes for the first time you will be able to enjoy this great band, the purveyors of the best nowadays garagepunk, on the 7-inch format. Recorded on their stomping ground in Cologne Germany, its loud, primitive and RAW. Of course the easy comparison to anything coming out of the Northwest from the mid sixties, like the Wailers and the Sonics, can still be made. THE HARA-KEE-REES havent changed their musical direction. No they are perhaps even more wild, psycho, moody and angry than before.
A-side CANT STOP THINKING ABOUT YOU is perhaps their most heartfelt recording to date. Organ driven garage killer filled with the essential ingredients in any teen-angst tale: love & pain.
The B-side delivers their insanely rockin and super wild take on the Unusuals IM WALKIN BABE. They increased the pace and created a fantastic and frantic garagestomper. A crude guitar and savage screams drenched in organ makes this a brutal raw crunchin sixties inspired punk monster. And so two great songs on one 45 for the LOUD crowd!
KUUR-007: FUMESTONES – Now at the mini bar!! 7"
Brandnew release of this great garage band from Spain. The sound of the Fumestones is more similar to the 80s bands and this 7"ep is a must for any garagehead outthere! Four songs full of fuzz and farfisa sound, make you wanna scream and shake! ..Out of tears.. is my fave song on a-side with snotty vocals and swirling farfisa and ..Pamplona.. on b-side is a fantastic garage song with great rhythm and catchy tempo whichs reminds me of two Italian bands from the 80s the Ugly things and the Electric Sheilds. Just and only this song is a good reason to get it!! (Great cartoon coverart by Paisley) (Lost in Tyme)
KUUR-006: THE MIRACLE MEN – Dont Hide Your Love 7"
For those of you who harbored secret grievances that the Nuggets Vol 2 box set was exactly four songs from the Netherlands too short, I believe this balances the karmic ledger nicely. ALL HAIL THE BAND'S STUNNING ADEQUECY!BEST SONG: The one that sounds like "Can't Seem To Make You Mine", but isn't. BEST SONG TITLE: Here you pick one if you think this gig is so goddamn easy: "Don't Hide Your Love" "Let Me Love" "The Magic's Gone" "Can't Go On"- see what I mean? FANTASTIC AMAZING TRIVIA FACT: In mono. -Rev. Norb (Kuriosa) (Razorcake)
KUUR-005: LOW POINT DRAINS – BOTTLE O’WHISKEY 7"
You wouldn’t be able to tell by looking at the inconspiciously happy stick drawing on the cover of this record that inside is some fucked up, trashy rock and roll. Truly great, over the top, messy, noisy, reverb-filled garage punk that makes me happy. Turn it up—loud. (CK) (MAXIMUM ROCKNROLL)
KUUR-004: GREEN HORNET - Backlash 7"
60's mod/acid indulged freak out music here. A sound like a sonic rock frenzy meeting some bugout surfers. I hear a Hentchmen or Mummies type of groove. Green Hornet have a party like sound that might rock it live & get the floor moving. (Smashing Transistors)

KUUR-003: SPIDER RICO - Mae +3 (The Ultimate Garage Trash) EP 7"
I expected to hate this based on the horrible band name and stupid pic on the sleeve, but lo and behold, this is actually pretty good. If blown out tunes with yelped/shouted vocals, fuzzy guitar leads, and caveman drums are up your alley, this should scratch you where you itch…especially if said itch was transmitted via the juices of some nasty trollop's loins.(SS) (Terminal Boredom)

KUUR-002: THE NO-GOODS - Hits Uit Het Noorden 10"
This record starts off with the aptly titled, "No-Good Theme," a surf instrumental that's as unimaginative and limp-dicked as it sounds. Fortunately after the rough start, things get much better with a turn for a punchy, beat-inspired sound that falls somewhere between the raunch of Billy Childish and the cleaner approach of the Hi-Fives. I actually like this quite a bit, thanks to the always-winning combo of the big beat and memorable tunes. Fans of the aforementioned, plus all of you Back From the Grave/Teenage Shutdown hosers out there, could do worse than to check these guys out.(SS) (Terminal Boredom)
KUUR-001: THE NO-GOODS - LEKKERE BEAT EP
