Watercolour/oil painting, reading, photography - when I have time! Thats a laugh! Socialising is good too!
Like minded people such as the Longdogs www.longdogs.co.uk who support Show of Hands and others but also come together and raise money for charity. Typically Childrens Hospice South West and now CLIC as Steve Knightleys 6 year old son has just been diagnosed with leukemia, a very harrowing time for them. Update is that Jack is doing as well as expected. Also want to boost up my networking on the music scene.
I am an avid supporter of Ralph McTell www.ralphmctell.co.uk Show of Hands www.showofhands.co.uk, Martyn Joseph www.martynjoseph.co.uk and Seth Lakeman www.sethlakeman.co.uk Also do gig reviews and album reviews for www.folking.com and various papers. Arrange and promote Acoustic gigs in Devon. Saw Dan Donnelly supporting Seth 3 years ago and we have been friends since meeting up at The Big Session. Also into Tom Palmer, Uscedwr, Oysterband, The Levellers and Spiers and Boden. What spare time?? Had a great evening watching Rev Hammer's Freeborn John live in Barnstaple on Feb 12th. Rev is a master of his craft and a nice guy too!
Robin Hood (Prince of Thieves) Braveheart , Star Wars, Lord of the Rings - all of them, Forever Young, Harry Potter series (except the last one which was crap.) Stardust (2007)
Soaps I'm afraid! Also anything musical, Folk Brittania though was a disappointment. More music programmes are needed. Also enjoy the epic TV Series - Heroes. The second series is proving to be as fab as the first!
Pete Goss - Close to the Wind, a very inspiring book which everyone should read if they are feeling despondent and need self-motivation. Labyrinth by Kate Mosse, brilliant. Currently reading her second book - Sepulcre. Harry Potter series. Angela's Ashes, Angel Laughter and Summer Lightening Ralph McTell. The Celestine Prophecy series by James Redfield.Times Eye & 2001 series by Arthur C Clarke, and all other books by him. The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield is a thrilling book too.
Pete Goss (Team Philips) for saving the Frenchman Dinelli which cost him the race of the Vendee Globe. All who lost their lives on Sept 11, 2001 and all who tried to save. Lifeboatmen, Coastguards, Service men and women, Firemen, all who keep us safe. Anyone who saves lives is a Hero, whoever they may be.
