About Me

Hello, we’re Oysterband: 5 people, basically, though sometimes we take other musician friends on tour. We make a kind of modern, folk-based British music, acoustic at heart but not always quiet. We’ve been doing this for a long time, and we’re pretty good at it by now. In fact, we are probably one of the best bands you’ve never heard of.
We also reckon we write unusual and interesting lyrics for the songs. Everything we’ve experienced makes us sympathetic to the left, the green and the sceptical; but at the same time we like the rich diversity of tradition. Contradictory? You bet!
We’ve made one DVD so far and 10 studio CDs (the latest is “Meet You There”, 2007), not counting compilations, collaborations & live recordings; we’ve played in 35 or so countries; we’ve played jails and political rallies as well as festivals and gigs; and we’ve made good friends all over the world. Music hasn’t made us millions, but the trip has been worth it, every step.
I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
The latest album " Meet You There" was released on 23 April 2007. Tracks are available for download from all major outlets.
