About Me

Sometimes people confuse an inflated ego with confidence and a willingness to speak up.
Kensal Rise are an Indie rock band from the doom and gloom that is Lincoln.
Through the nights in police cells, drunken binges, street fighing, broken relationships, waking up on strangers floors & beds(thanks for the roof), unemployment/employment, broken promises, through the fall from grace, band member leaving, all the 3am conversations, for all the last minute decisions, good gigs & bad gigs, Highs and lows, drugs, booze, cigarettes, casual sex, gettin pissed on by the rain, lack of equipment, (lets rob the neighbours) from the council estates that give us fuck all to look forward to!
... And We still have time to make beautiful music!!

The Kensal Rise's history begins in 2007 in Lincoln, England and soon, it sounds promising . Originally, Alex, Springy and Ash was an accoustic band and quickly, having material in their reefer jacket, they go to look for a drummer and a guitarist. Jonny and fred come a year ago. Since that arriving, Kensal Rise, aka theKennys, play and assure plenty of concerts with live gigs on BBC radio.
They go so well together. The band has the same influences, Beatles, Rolling Stones, La's, the Smiths, Bob Dylan, Paul Weller, Stone Roses etc. Their Rock'n Roll style has pop sound, in the singing with chorus, in the arrangements and lyrics. The young men fit like princes, guitars swing an electric juice (not worcestershire sauce), the maracas, synthe, drums follow one after one, and combine to give a perfect matter.
Kensal Rise have rafts of songs to record and i hope they will find soon a label or will do it on their own to bring us an album this year.
It is distinctively the kind of band, if someone brings means, can soar up as Oasis and Blur once did.
