ALEXIS STAR is a talented and energetic music artist, Brooklyn born with an exotic mix of Indian, Italian and Irish. She has a one of a kind, outstanding Vocal Quality. Alexis's music takes bits and pieces from different genres to create a Fresh and one of a kind sound.

Alexis has been aspiring to be a singer since the age of three, when her first talent competition took place. She performed to Michael Jackson’s “Beat It”, and won. That’s when Alexis knew she wanted to be a Music Artist. At the Age of Five Alexis started performing in musicals. Her brothers and sister joined a musical theatre program, but she was too young to join. She followed her siblings to rehearsal and memorized all of the songs and script. The director of the show noticed her enthusiasm and natural talent, and he wrote a part for her. She then got a scholarship to the theatre company, City Lights. She was eager and ready to start her career.

Alexis continued her career in the musical theatre field for many years, developing her powerful voice. She worked in most of the Off-Broadway Theatres in New York City, playing lead roles. Her theatre company consistently choose her to perform duets with many famous Cabaret and Broadway singers. Ben Vereen was one of her favorites to work with, as well as performing with the cast of Hairspray and Wicked.

At the age of fourteen her mother became very sick. Alexis had to be there all the time to take care of her. Alexis was juggling her career, job, school, and taking care of her mother. Singing and writing was her escape from all of the chaos happening around her. At the age of sixteen, her mother passed away, leaving Alexis orphaned. She had never known any other family except her mother and siblings, who were only a few years older than her, leaving them unable to take care of her. She still continued to peruse her career while supporting herself, and going to school.

Around the same time Alexis got the lead in an original show written by Broadway writer and Tony nominated, Will Holt. She also started writing and recording her own material. The same year a renowned vocal coach, William Zeffiro who is famous for training broadways casts and pop vocalists heard her sing. He offered to give her private coaching at no cost because of the talent and dedication she had.

Alexis continued working on her music and developing a unique sound. She started performing at many various venues around New York City. A BMI Songwriter / Composer / Producer Pavel Bez, heard her sing at the legendary Cutting Room and offered her a production deal. She is now developing her career further, and is on her way to Stardom!

Today Alexis has written and recorded numerous songs. She has been played on the radio internationally and nationally, including Betuwe Radio, WWACN Nox 97 FM, Sprint Radio, US Cellular Radio, XM Radio, WMUW, etc. She has a production deal with No Limits Ent., working with BMI songwriter, composer, producer Pavel Bez. She has won praise from VH1, being named "Suggested Artist" of the year. She has been featured on the front page of the New York Times Arts section. She Won “The Andrea Morris Award” for Vocal Excellence. Alexis has worked with Platinum selling Producer and Mixer Steve Sola, better known as the "Mix King" for Plain Truth Entertainment, collaborating with the underground rapper I-Mam Thug. She has performed at places such as The Cutting Room, The Iguana Club, The Copacabana, The Lighthouse, The Supper Club, and many numerous venues.
