The Nation of African Peoples Unity (NAPU) is not only a collective, but a nation of African peoples of the world united as one force and one people.

NAPU is made up of only African melanated peoples who are striving to be righteous and moral in the highest and the most honorable ways. The History of the Nation of African Peoples Unity
By: Obawajumi Owolafia Olayinka
The International Spokesman for the Nation of African Peoples Unity
The ideas behind the forming of the Nation of African Peoples Unity (which was originally founded as the Coalition of African and Indigenous Peoples Unity) was originally the brainchild of the Almighty Creator who passed the idea on to Brother Ahmed Tahir, who in turn shared that idea with Brother Oba Olayinka and Brother Khaz Ali. Brother Ahmed began to share this idea with Brother Justin Bridges and his cousin, Brother Marc English who were also thinking about creating an umbrella organization under the MatahNetwork. The four brothers began to work together and each individual began to think of ways to bring the organization into existence. Since Justin and Marc both engineered the African Peoples Radio Show (APR) which was hosted by Brother Ahmed Tahir and Brother Oba every Friday night, it was easy to dialog after the show. African Peoples Radio (The Voices of Revolution) was created by Ahmed Tahir, who had envisioned a show that would promote African and Indigenous peoples unity. The show discussed various topics concerning African people throughout the Delaware Valley and around the world.
APR was a very diverse program, with individual host representing various religious and cultural organizations the likes of The Hebrew Israelites, The Nation of Gods and Earths, The Moorish Science Temple, The Nation of Islam and others. The radio show would be dress rehearsal for the Nation of African Peoples Unity. This organization would bring together different African Nationalist , Pan-African and Spiritual Organizations under one umbrella organization. The founding night of what now the Nation of African Peoples Unity was February 27th 2004.
The first meeting was held at the Pearl of Africa in March of 2004. The meetings grew very quickly as we would find out that many of our people were tired of fancy speeches, armchair revolutionary tactics and intellectual as well as philosophical masturbation that many organizations had be accustom to doing in the past. Today out of those initial meetings was formed a core group that now makes up the Nation of African Peoples Unity.
The overall mission and lifetime commitment of NAPU is to unite all Africans here in the United States and abroad. As well as unite all organizations, institutions, and people culturally, spiritually, economically and defensively into one African nation.
The NAPU respected and recognized individual organizations, institutions and persons autonomy that was apart of the NAPU. The Nation of African Peoples Unity only ask that each one sign on and pledge themselves to doing the work in liberating African people and developing an independent African nation. By joining the NAPU they'll be helping to free our people from the yoke of global oppression, as well as spiritual, mental, physical and economic genocide that is inflicted on Africans daily by the Neo-Colonialist powers. We found that there was a serious need for the establishment of the NAPU. The Nation of African Peoples Unity was a socio-political organization not a religious or spiritual organization. Although it was agreed upon that spirituality is one of the pillars that the NAPU firmly stands on. The NAPU didn't advocate one particular religious or spiritual system. Just as long as that particular system that was practiced is African in origin or was taught with a black liberation theology it wasn't a problem with individuals or groups becoming members of the NAPU.
It didn't matter if an individual was a Christian, Muslim, Israelite, Moor, Asiatic or African they could keep their particular title they carried. Knowing that some of our people would have a serious problem with the name "African" being apart of the name of the organization. The term African, originally spelled Af-ra-kan means Af-people of the living flesh, Ra-people of the divine light and Ka-people of the spirit or divine essence of the creator. Afraka is a term that was originated in ancient Kemet/Egypt which was derived out of the ancient Neter writings and used to identify the aboriginal black people of that particular region of the world. We also used term "African" to associate our people with a land-base that we knew to be the origin of all hued-man civilization.
We strived to make the organization as universal as possible by establishing moral and ethical codes of conduct. So we established the 42 Declarations of MAAT which are principles that came of Kemet (Ancient Egypt) that transcends any spiritual or religious doctrine. We knew that these laws each one of us in our own way conscious or unconscious strived to live by no matter what organization or religious institution they belonged to. As Brother Ahmed the Chairman of the NAPU always said to me "That the harvest is great but the laborers are few. That the term "unity" wasn't a concept that our people could continue to theoretically talk about. But unity was a state of being that had to become functional.
It was also understood, that we had to find a common denominator and come up with points of unity that in our present condition in this country and throughout the world would begin to unify and bring our people together for one common cause against a common enemy. Two things the nation of African Peoples Unity always stressed is "If it's not African unity, then it's the Negro Mutiny" and "You can't love Africa and not love Africans." This is why the Nation of African Peoples Unity was formed. The NAPU put on various events such as African Independence Day. The first one was held on August 7th 2004 at Malcolm X Park. The purpose to revisit what our brothers and sisters in Tulsa, Oklahoma had established in the late 1800's into the early 1900's in the way of a thriving black owned and operated community that would eventually be burnt down and destroyed by whites in 1921. The program was also centered around the fact of cooperative economics (Ujamaa) and the importance of our people "BUYING BLACK." Encouraging African people to redirect their everyday spending by supporting black owned and operated businesses inside as well as outside the black community.
The NAPU on December 18th 2004 put on a Kwanzaa Celebration and the theme was "Black Family Reunion I-N-I Are One Always." In the mist of all the speakers and culturetainment, was once again the importance of cooperative economics (Ujamaa) as well as our people "BUYING BLACK" throughout the so-called holiday season but throughout the year as well. There were also fundraisers that were put on by the NAPU as well. Even an "All Power To The People 70's Party held on November 2nd 2004 as guest were asked to come dress in costume as their favorite revolutionary figure of the 60's and 70's.
In March of 2005, The Nation of African Peoples Unity designed it's own National Flag and seal. The flag was designed by both Chairman Ahmed Tahir and Brother Khaz Ali. The National Flag of the National of the N.A.P.U. is represented by the African Liberation colors red, black and green and a gold shield or the Magadavi representing the concept as above so below. In August of 2005, The Nation of African had it first Constitutional Convention which was held at N.A.P.U. International Headquaters. It was a three day event in which the N.A.P.U. unveiled it's National Constitution to the community and had various organizations, businesses and institutions sign on a became members of the N.A.P.U. Those were just some of the events and programs established by the Nation of African Peoples Unity in it's early stages of it's growth and development. But there are bigger and better things to come for the Nation of African Peoples Unity. The mission of the Nation of African Peoples Unity is to Not only start chapters all over the country but to start various different chapters of the NAPU all over the world. The NAPU is not out to fight other group or leaders that want the same thing as the Nation of African Peoples Unity. As Brother Malcolm taught us "We must find a common solution to a common problem. The NAPU believes that the fate of our people is shared by all in spite of our differences and only through unity can we bring our present conditions to a permanent end. THE NATION OF AFRICAN PEOPLES UNITY IS NOT REVOLUTIONARY OR RADICAL IT'S JUST RESPONSIBLE! Our Mission
NAPU aims and objectives are to unite spiritually, economically as well as physically and mentally righteous and moral African people. We are also committed to glorifying The Most High and uplifting humanity in general African people in particular. NAPU is also and organized body of African human beings that are action and work oriented. We aim to resurrect our great and glorious kingdoms. Regaining our land and nations with a standing Army and economy is our only salvation.

Universal African people encourage love, peace and unity, honor and justice from everlasting to everlasting. May we always one blood and to never again let enslavement and colonization separate us as one people.

In conclusion, NAPU was created to uplift our peoples and to give them an umbrella organization and a nation to call their own people both here and around the world. We do not seek to have better accommodations on the so called United States plantation, but instead to create an African people's government, board of education Financial and lending Institutions, police force, armed forces, currency and/or barter system, health care services, industry technological advances, marriage ceremonies, control of rich minerals land that sustain life etc. This land includes our land from here in the Americas as well as the Continent, or where we may be indigenously presiding
