Sounds Like: All you need to know about KeNtext Da God of Quam & Re-Die-Rectin' Energeez
Q: How would you describe your sound?
A: I would describe we sound as Rhythmic Poetry. I wouldnt compare our sound to anybody unless its authentic music, with a rebel, Hip-Hop vibe. I like to keep it very Versatile and original, as possible.
Q: Who is Re-Die-Rectin Energeez? What does the name mean? Give me three words to describe Re-Die-Rectin Energeez.
A: Redirecting Energies was the name of a song that my music partner, Dean Da Mastermind Architect and I had at first. At that time we didnt have a title for ourselves; we liked the vibration of those words, and choose the name RE-DIE-RECTIN ENERGEEZ. We exist to RE-DIE-RECT the ENERGEEZ to the chakras which are the gate keepers to the Mind, Body and Soul! Three words to describe us would be Magnetic, Truthful, and Motivational!
Q: What is Galaxy 7?
A: Galaxy 7 is the family consisting of: one of my physical brothers, Da Blacklight and his group, Nationall Godz; 8.0.3.; came up wit that piece of the puzzle, along comes ODDEST TOOLZ; Newport Kingz; ELCHAIN; 7th Seal; Re-Die-Rectin Energeez; Infinit Cipher; and many more soldiers and soldiets, from different cities and states.
Q: Go back to the moment you first experienced Hip Hop, what made you attach yourself to it?
A: The first time I experienced Hip-Hop was around 1978 or 79, I lived in the projects on 169 St and Washington Ave off Webster Ave in the boogie down Bronx NY...Nothing but Park Jams around me, from 22 park to 82 park...Ha! So one night I snuck out the door, and followed the sounds of (Heartbeat- you make me feel, so weak) Over like a fat rat Frankly Beverly and Maze and beat breaks echo Crazy from the park in that, I felt a force of energy come in to me from that point on. I became infatuated with block parties, pop locking, break dancing, Up rocking emceeing and just straight B-boy life period.
Q: What are some things or some people that/who influence your music? Where do you draw from creatively? What inspires you to create music?
A: There are far too many pioneers to name that influence me to create music, so I will just explain the things that influence me. One reason is to uplift and educate the lost generation and expose the false reflections of Hip-Hop music I dont just write about what I see, I write about what we need to see - Unity, not division. Injustice is my inspiration for creating music. To teach the youth, adults, and elders that music is here to nurture and heal the soul and to Re- Die-Rect ones awareness, to bring forth positive Energeez!
Q: Do you prefer to be in the studio or live on stage?
A: I personally enjoy being on stage a lot more then the studio, because the studio is like virtual reality, Its not real, its very artificial because theres adlib and special effects. When Im on stage I get to inter act with the crowd, theres no better feeling. Anybody can be a studio MC, it happens all the time! Ha!
Q: What is your ultimate goal as a music artist? What would make you feel like you have completed your mission when its all said and done?
A: My ultimate goal as an artist is to enlighten my people and to reinstate the sense of pride and dignity we once had. I want my people to be able to dance to our ancient rhythms and have pure knowledge embedded into their subconscious, instead of gyrating to hypnotizing beats and sexually explicit lyrics. I want the next generations to know their history so they can truly know themselves. Through music I can leave a message for them as the ancestors have left for me. Each one teach one, so our Spirit never Dies.
Peace B-moor and never Ever The Less!
