Travel, art, cultural studies, music....family and friends above all! Favorite places to go are Kaikuru, New Zealand...Andermatt, Switzerland... and Thassos, Greece. I have jet-boated in New Zealand, I have been to Paris so many times that I have lost count, and I have seen London, Paris and Rome all in the same day. But I have never walked the Great Wall of China, never trekked in Nepal and never drifted down the Amazon, so I am not through yet. I live both in the States and the UK...traveling between the two every few months or so. That being said, I sometimes wish that I could stay forever and never roam from my Blue Ridge Mountain home....
I'd like to meet:
First of all, I would want to meet AMMA, the Hugging Saint from India. I would want her to wrap her arms around me and hold me for a very, very long time...I have a hunger for that deep within me....and then....All of the men and women from whom I am descended...all those Grandmas and Grandpas, ones I have known and those gone long before me. I have the names and details for over two hundred of my grandparents going back over 15 generations. I am surely the sum total of them all.And all my fiddle playing grandpas from as way back as these mountains were settled....."He fiddled a wind by the lonesome moon,He fiddled a most almighty tune.He started fiddling like a ghost. He ended fiddling like a host.He fiddled north an' he fiddled south,He fiddled the heart right out of yore mouth. He fiddled here an' he fiddled there. He fiddled salvation everywhere."Stephen Vincent Benet's
"The Mountain Whippoorwill"My great grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Casey.
