About Me

Educated at the Purcell School of music in London and growing up in Hollywood while his father, actor Lionel Jeffries (grandpa Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), was making Lerner and Lowes classic musical "Camelot" Ty Jeffries has alway been surrounded by the most inspiring of people.
"The Bee Gees used to come to the house".recalls Ty "...and Maurice Chevalier sang to me when I was a little boy by the pool at the Chateaux Marmont Hotel in Beverly Hills and I danced with Fred Astaire down Sunset Boulevard after dinner one night. Frank Sinatra came to our table to say hello while we were dining at the 'Brown Derby'... but sadly I was asleep in my soup at the time... I was only six years old.
At the age of sixteen Ty signed his first publishing deal and, in his early twenties, was among the stable of writers at Elton John and John Reed's 'Rocket Music' where he penned chart hitting material for artists including "Heaven Seventeen's" Carol Kenyon. The Oscar winnng composer Vangelis recognized Ty's talent and soon took him under his wing after hearing him perform at a party in London. "It was inspiring to be in the studio while Vangelis was working on the soundtrack for 'Blade Runnner' and 'Chariots of Fire'" recalls Ty.
As well as playing the piano and singing in cabaret venues in London, Paris New York and LA, Ty has written, composed and performed a number of successful one man shows at venues such as the Kings Head Theatre Islington and the most recently Dec 2007 the Marlborough Theatre in his home town of Brighton.
The EVENING STANDARD writes "....Ty Jeffries perform his extraodinary one-man musical..."
The INDEPENDENT "... the world had better brace itself for Ty's heavy lidded torch songs and belting show stoppers..."
