Avant garde, a term used synonymously with free jazz, challenged the listener by allowing the musician to choose the musical path rather than follow the traditional approach. Groove is the characteristic that ties underlying and continuous feel. Freestyle is a version in which there are few restrictions on the techniques employed. Genre is the word that defines the category of artistic composition characterized by similarities in style and/or subject matter. This is a catalog of music being recorded that define the aforementioned while conscious of the social and political climate of the time. The only exception is there is no genre and/or method to this because I VIBE!
If we all spoke in the same voice none of us would be recognized, if everyone looked the same no one would be more beautiful. And then there are those who speak in someone else's voice, only to be impersonators and mimics. The listener becomes tired of the same sound, sort of like getting weary of arguing with someone..you don't want to hear their voice. I like just about every kind of music, because of that everything I hear is an influence.
