Unique Music. Charisma. Culture. Brotherhood. These elements fused together create the Australian Latin hip hop crew Oz Locos. Sucessfully debuting at Bondi Hotel for the EP release party, it'd be no suprise if spectators assumed they were an established group; performing enthralling tracks also featuring vocals by two special guests (Australian Idol finalists) resulted in a packed venue of patrons in a sea of Oz Locos branded t-shirts, moving to the music like each song had already topped the charts.
Established in Sydney the group orginally comprising of 4 MCs and DJ, have since positively refined and evolved into the founding members MC Seba & Cheeky MC leading a live band and dancers into the next stage of the musical journey. From being interviewed on community radio stations such as FBI, Latinos FM, Koori Radio, Skid Row and nationally on Triple J's Hiphop Show with Maya Jupiter to having their music played on above-mentioned stations including 96.1 The Edge FM and various stations nationwide. Currently featuring on compilations such as Carl Alley's "Soul Controller" with their hit track "Muevansen".
Aspiring to conquer the international market, Oz Locos have already started to pave way representing Australia by niche collaborations with established artists such as Chile's 1 reggaeton act Donko & La Secta Crew whom are commonly played throughout South America (distribution spanning from Latin America to Europe due to its release under the Puerto Rican record label MVP - home of the "King of Reggaeton" Don Omar), Temperamento (the "Latin Hiphop's Battle King" of Block Royal Records, Rhode Island USA), as well as Apollo 11, Sutil, Orion XL (all from Raptores Records, Argentina).
Consistantly striving to be best in their genre of music, Oz Locos have experience entertaining crowds of all ages at prestigious venues as The Metro and The Basement, as well as Privilege Bar, Docks Hotel, Space Nightclub, Mylk Nightclub, UN Bar and Hunter Bar. They have also ventured into performing at festivals such as Bondi South American Festival, "We Love Sounds 2006" at Fox Studios and the 2006 Darling Harbour Fiesta.
Performance highlights locally include participating on stage at the 2006 UMAs supporting Figgkidd's performance, The Marquee with Watussi & 2-Up, Mona Vale Hotel with Labjacd (Melb) album launch, sold out gig at The Annandale Hotel for King Farook's "Land of The Horny" album launch. Earlier this month successfully competing at The Roxy, Parramatta "REV07UTION" event, taking out first prize in the Hiphop category.
Oz Locos are stedily becoming more recognised within the music scene, building a solid reputation for themselves amongst industry peers in various genres of music. They are currently working primarily on their debut album with Producers including DJ Fokus (Magician Records, Melb), Fame (Syd), Oscar "El Duro" Jimenez (Watussi, Syd), Lance "JP" Wilson (Syd), MY-T (Raptores Records, Argentina) and various international producers, tentatively due for independant release in the coming summer.
Upcoming events include participation in "The Unda K9 Dogmatic Tour" (national) recently performed alongside DJ Dwight Chocolate Escobar at the 2007 Darling Harbour Fiesta and have been confirmed for PEATS RIDGE FESTIVAL 2007, 11:15am UNDERWORLD Stage - 31ST DECEMBER!!
