About Me

If you want real welfare reform, you focus on a good education, good health care, and a good job. If you want to reduce poverty, you focus on a good education, good health care, and a good job. If you want a stable middle class, you focus on a good education, good health care, and a good job. If you want to have citizens who can participate in democracy, you focus on a good education, good health care, and a good job. And if you want to end the violence, you could build a million new prisons and you could fill them up, but you never end this cycle of violence unless you invest in the health and the skill and the intellect and the character of our children… you focus on a good education, good health care and a good job. And other than that, I don't feel strongly about anything. -US Senator Paul Wellstone, D-Minnesota, 7.21.44 to 10.25.02 MUST SEE VIDEO "THE STORY OF STUFF" at this link:http://www.storyofstuff.com/index.html Teaser Clips from "The Story of Stuff" Below

My Interests

“At stake is the most promising breakthrough for democracy in our time.” - Bill Moyers If you want REAL universal healthcare, click on the banners below. Educate yourself and others about SINGLE PAYER. KNOW the difference between REAL reform and phony schemes that use public funding for private insurance companies to continue business as usual.

I'd like to meet:

All My Relations Poverty is a threat to peace. The frustrations, hostility and anger generated by abject poverty cannot sustain peace in any society in the world. -- Muhammad Yunus, Bangladeshi economist at 2006 Nobel Peace Prize awards ceremony.

Heroes:

Besides my activist parents - especially my mother – my heroes are all those who work hard to protect our planet and those in need - the "Everyday Heroes" who do good works but go unnoticed. DENNIS KUCINICH is a true hero and the ONLY candidate who stands up for the people of this country. He's honest, ethical, smart, READS the bills he votes on! and he practices what he preaches. If we could get him elected we would see real and positive change. Michael Moore is a national treasure and one of my biggest heroes for the work he did to bring us his latest film, Sicko. Taking on the giant insurance industry and their powerful and rich lobby is a near impossible task but he has done it. I believe his film will wake up America to actually TAKE ACTION and force our elected officials to represent the people and not the profits of the private insurance companies any longer.I also admire famous people who use their celebrity status to help make a positive difference because it would be easy for them to sit back and ignore the rest of the world. For instance, Angelina Jolie - her work with the United Nations and her genuine concern for others is refreshing or singer/artist, Pink – she is a positive role model for young girls and her activist spirit is apparent in her work."..if by a liberal they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people - their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, their civil liberties.. if that is what they mean by a "liberal" then I am proud to be a liberal."John F. Kennedy President, USA 1960 - 1963

What I heard in Obama was a teacher. And we need a teacher in the white house.

The right wing is making a mountain out of a mole hill.  Do we expect every Catholic to denounce their faith because the Church systematically protected priests who abused children? Was Clinton...
