Hi, my name is Sunny. Actually, my full name is Sunshine Fawn and I'm a Boxer. My Daddy found me about a year after his other Boxer died from old age. I was sitting in a pet shop being teased by a group of obnoxious little children that were upsetting me when we met. He had been looking for that special Boxer and there I was. Him and Mom had some pretty huge mixed feelings about getting a pet store puppy, especially since they were there to see if the pet store was as horrible as they had heard it was, but they couldn't stand the thought of leaving me there with those dummies so they sent a check for the same amount as my "adopttion fee" to a local humane society to try and even the score a little. They said it was because I was too perfect a fit for our family to leave me behind and my Dad wouldn't consider any other dog. And why should he have, I'm a fantastic dog. After all, I'm a Boxer, what's not to love.Boxers are instinctively a hearing guard dog, his bearing is alert, dignified, and self-assured. In the show ring his behavior should exhibit constrained animation. With family and friends, his temperament is fundamentally playful, yet patient and stoical with children. Deliberate and wary with strangers, he will exhibit curiosity, but, most importantly, fearless courage if threatened. However, he responds promptly to friendly overtures honestly rendered. His intelligence, loyal affection, and tractability to discipline make him a highly desirable companion.See what I mean, we're everything you could possible want in a dog.I live for going to Daycare, that's where I get to bark and jump and run and pounce and bark and run and bark and do every single thing I'm not allowed to do at home. I love playing with other dogs. I love playing with toys. I love playing with all my brothers and sisters. I love going to the park with my Daddy. I'm a dog that loves to play. I'm a happy floppy Boxer. But, earlier this year something happened that sucked, on Superbowl Sunday as I sat with my Mom & Dad eating snacks and rooting for Dad's team, Mom noticed that I had developed a lump under my right eye that hadn't been there a few days ago. She knew what it was right away, she showed Dad and he knew too... We'd been down this road before, a few years ago I'd been diagnosed with bone cancer in my jaw and after a few days of discussion we all decided that the best thing that could be done was to remove part of my jaw. I bounced back with flying colors and that stupid cancer was gone. Or so we thought. It's back now and we're going to fight it with everything we've got. I'm tired a lot now from the radiation treatments but I'm still me after my naps. Cancer sucks and I'm going to beat it.
