"Lena Chen is the founder and president of Chilen Music, a music supervision company based in New York City, USA. Chilen Music’s main responsibility is to place pre-recorded and uniquely composed/tailored music in visual media (including TV, film, commercials, video games, on-air promos, etc…)
Lena is a proud supporter of unique and individual artists from around the world. She also loves to discover innovative and creative composers like none heard before who can create inimitable sounds, funky beats, playful melodies and worldly compositions.
Chen has held various roles in TV, Film and Music since 1996. This experience includes acting as an executive in TV Programming for multiple high-ranking national networks. She has also served in various production (executive/supervising) roles and provided unique executive decision making and creative input in various music areas. Her experience in and passion for music spans the globe. She has supervised production on concerts from areas including Beijing, Brixton, and Brussels as well as various areas throughout the U.S. In addition, Lena created and produced a national weekly music video series for a highly acclaimed "it" pop culture TV network. Through the series, she introduced her audience to new, never before seen music videos from all over.
Chinese, born in Brazil and raised in New York, her exposure to World Music started early! She has also always had a passion to showcase music from indie music artists she considered noteworthy to share with her viewers.
Taking these years of experience in TV and Music, along with her substantial participation in the Film industry, she created Chilen Music.
Lena is a full/voting member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), a Board member/juror of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (International Emmys) as well as a general member of New York Women in Film and Television (NYWIFT), the American Film Institute (AFI) and Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI). She is also a passionate supporter of the Food Allergy Initiative (FAI) and The Name Campaign."
