The die-hard music fan draws from many different musical influences, including Dancehall, Hip-Hop, Classic Soul, Alterative, 80’s Pop, and Rock. Coming from such a diverse blend of music, Prema was destined to set the trends and not follow them. Prema LaNay went on to meet Skot Free of Looney Bin Entertainment through a mutual friend/artist. Within an 8 hour stay the first night of meeting, a union was made.
“It’s just hard to put in a box, but everybody gets it,” says Skot Free. “When we began working together, I knew we had a special sound. It’s soft, and sexy, but not R&B, it was a little Pop, but not too pretty, and it just had that gangsta to it at the same time. I hadn’t heard anything like it before.”
It’s quite difficult to get a finger on the pulse of this sound. Prema LaNay seems to have an eccentric little heart that beats to the sound of a different drummer. Her highly addictive, extra-sensual sound blends Pop, Underground, Punk, Rap and R&B, into a European otherworldly collage of aural intoxication.
