Rising from the turning tide of fresh innovative rock music within Canada, The Scenario first hit the scene in 2004, fronted by originalband members Ryan Lynch (guitar, formerly of The Boston Post), Tyler Avram (bass) and Matt Varey (drums), all from London, Ontario. Theystarted writing songs together, building a small intimate set to introduce themselves to the public eye and to speculate some localattention. The Venues they played, however small, enabled the band to show huge potential and catapulted them into a more serious directionwhen it became evident they had something special to offer.
As the band began to grow in confidence, they progressed musically and their set list began to grow. Attention was building, demand wasgrowing too, but the foundations remained uncertain. The Scenario tried and tested some 5 singers until finally, in early 2006, they hitjackpot with former solo artist Mikey Lavereau (now plays guitar and sings lead vocals). Upon testing Mikey for the band, it was evident toMikey and Ryan that all the pieces of the puzzle finally fitted; they worked as a four piece, re-working old songs and penning new ones, until finally Mike accepted the full time singer position and The Scenario, with its final line-up, were ready to rock.
Musically, the band have matured from the patented garage punk band sound into a fresh tangent of contempo classic rock, industrious andenergetic; their growing catalog shows a distinct blend of their musical abilities, from the slower, more melodic rock ballad, Whisper, tothe highly charged, vibrant side splitter, Don’t Wait Up. Their sound is diverse, but married in identity through distinct vocals and thesmooth transition of musicality through each of the tracks. All in all, the sound is ear pleasing, addicting and endearingly fresh.
With a respectable tally of local shows under their belt, the band enjoyed playing the college scene in hometown London, and used theattention they were able to accumulate to secure them their producer, Brian Moncarz (Universal Music’s The Junction). The band workedclosely with Moncarz to put together their forthcoming self titled EP.
Upon release of the EP, the band plans to continue to do what it does best. Take it’s musical energy to the masses and make convertseverywhere they go.
