Hussam Al-Aydi is a professional Middle Eastern musician. Hussam was born and raised in Qatar, a small country in the Gulf area. He has been playing and studying music since the age of seven. He studied music for 5 years at the College of Music in Cairo, Egypt. His musical talents include: playing the Keyboard, Piano, Aoud, Tabla, and singing. He has played music professionally for over 15 years.Hussam listens to all types of world music. In addition to Arabic music, he especially loves American Blues and Jazz music. He likes to incorporate Spanish, Jazz, and Blues music into his own music creating wonderful Arabic-Jazz/Blues and Arabic-Spanish fusion arrangements. Throughout his career he has accompanied many of the famous Arabic singers and dancers across the Middle East and other Arab countries. He is also able to compose and arrange pieces of his original music for Middle Eastern dancers and singers.Hussam is the President of Golden Promise Entertainment, a company he created to bring quality Middle Eastern music and entertainment to Louisville and the surrounding region. In addition to running his company, he is the leader of an Arabic music and dance ensemble called BALADNA. BALADNA, which means “our Country" in Arabic, is a group of talented musicians and dancers that Hussam has gathered together. This diverse group has members from different Arab countries as well as American born musicians.You can experience his music at several upcoming festivals and cultural events in Louisville as well as other regional events. Hussam and BALADNA are also available for private parties, ethnic events, festivals, and restaurant and nightclub entertainment.The most recent addition to the Golden Promise Entertainment family is the BALADNA Dancers. This is a group of beautiful dancers that perform with Hussam and BALADNA. These young women come from very diverse dance backgrounds and bring a fresh approach to Middle Eastern dance. They perform both group and solo modern Arabic dance and folkloric numbers.Hussam is also an instructor offering private, semi-private, and group lessons on Arabic music for dancers and/or musicians. He is always looking to add more talented musicians, dancers, and other entertainers to his company roster. This will allow him to provide his clients with the best performers that the Louisville area has to offer.In addition to providing quality entertainment regionally, Hussam also has a company called Golden Promise International which imports and exports goods between the US and the Middle East. He is involved in organizing festivals and working with Arab countries to bring entertainers from the United States to perform in their special events. In the future he would like to bring musicians and dancers from overseas to perform in America. He believes that music can build a bridge across language and cultural barriers.
