Misha Feigin was born and raised in Moscow and is known as one of Russia's premiere guitarists. In 1990, he immigrated to America, leaving behind an established position in the Moscow arts scene highlighted by his four albums on the Melodia label, features on major radio and television shows, and national and international tours. The Russian independent radio station "Echo of Moscow" ended three days emergency broadcast after the failed coup in August 1991 with Misha's song "Gulp of Freedom."Misha has performed at the Kennedy Center, Winnipeg Folk Festival, WOMAD Festival, Vancouver Jazz Festival, Birmingham Improv Festival, and at the Knitting Factory and Tonic in New York. He played in concerts and recorded with Dave Libman, Elliot Sharp, Eugene Chadbourne, Ami Denio, LaDonna Smith, Davey Williams, Susan Alcorn, Toshi Makihara, Peter Kowald, Leonid Soybelman, and Sergei Letov. Misha's current projects include String Trek, a duo with LaDonna Smith and Sahara Gypsies, the fusion of Russian Gypsy and Arabic music with blues and funk.
