Oud, Guitar, Composition, Arrangement

About Me

Fayçal is a young French compositor born in Algeria, where he lived until the age of 11. The memories of his childhood are indelible.
At the age of 18, he starts practicing the guitar with his teacher and friend Denis Naegely who encourages him to develop his creativity. Two years later, he learns to play the oud ( traditional Arabic instrument) on his own.
Some times ago, he formed the band JAMRA ( International festival of university music and International festival of music of Besançon) and exhibits his first creations live.
In the meantime, he uses his talents as musician and compositor in other shows: -He takes part in the show Altérité, performed in the Opéra-Théâtre of Besançon on the 7th of November, 2002. This show gathered 11 musicians: 6 from France and 5 from Rajasthan. They offered a set of traditional Indian music mingled with compostions by French musicians: one of the compositions is created by Fayçal Salhi.
-The same year he composes the music of a documentary broadcast on the channel Planète.
- In 2007 Fayçal composes the original soundtrack for the movie La maison jaune by director Amor Hakkar and he recieved the award for the best movie soundtrack at Valencia's movie festival (spain).
