Yaz Fentazi.started playing guitar when he was 16, before that he was just listening to the music records pop, rock, jazz, funk, etc... and he started playing withe covers band(New Boys) that was good opportunity to develop his music ears and experience. from 86-87 in Algiers started playing with some singers including Cheb Mami, Cheb Sahraoui, Idir, Madjid Soula,Fateh Tinda from L' ONB and more.... He moved to london in early 90's and that time he started to play the Oud and became involved in a project with Fantazia band, he realist two albums, HYPERLINK www.myspace.com/fantaziahackney and el andaluz HYPERLINK www.myspace.com/elandaluzbandHe was invited to perform and record and touring with Master Drummers of Africa,Richard Bignell, Robert Plant, Marc Almond, Natacha Atlas, Joi,Davide Mantovani, Jarmila Xymena Gorna, and more..The Guardian has described Fentazis’ compositions as having “breadth and atmosphere, and his oud soloing, which recalls the drive and dynamism of world oud star Anouar Brahem, is often stunning,”.
