David Hodek was born on 19.09.1997. When David was just one year old, the people in his environment already noticed his exceptional sense for music. Coincidently one of his first responds to musical stimulus was connected with the solo album of Ringo Star. He wasn’t speaking contiguously yet, but he could already force the people around him to constantly play his favorite song. A juncture in his life came when David was 3 years old. By that time he had already decided musical taste. His passionate relationship to the drums started when his father brought home the video record of the band called Earth, Wind and Fire. They watched it together and David wanted to see the video record more times a day and he was obviously fascinated, mainly by the actions of the drummer. He tried to do the same ............ Perhaps it seemed like a children’s game to imitate Sonny Emory, but his play couldn’t escape notice of the experienced ears of his parents. Both his father and grandfather are musicians and his mother is a dance teacher. They immediately noticed that his play is incredibly certain and exact for the child in his age. He got his first children drum and he immediately completed the drum set with kitchen tools. It didn’t seem like his enthusiasm is going to decline, so he soon got his first complete children drum set. His apparent musical talent evoked the attention mainly among the musicians, which had the opportunity to see and hear his play. Even though no one doubted his talent, David’s father wanted someone to confirm him that his son is an extraordinary talent. After all Vilmos Jávory, professor of drum play at the jazz section of the multi-genre conservatory in Budapest, affirmed his talent. When he heard David’s play at the age of four, he stated that he plays up to the mark of an adolescent, who has been conscientiously practicing for five years. Professor Jávory became the kid’s first teacher. Later on David played under the supervision of Gábor Dörnyei in Budapest. Approximately about that time a couple of musician ex-colleagues of David’s grandfather formed a band together with David. The formation was profiled as a blues band. The boy performed at his first concert appearances. A couple of other musicians noticed him. Today the best professional musicians in the country, as O.Krajnák, O. Rózsa, R.Tariska, P.Sárik, B.Lattmann and others, invite him for performances. His new band consists of young top professional musicians. The genre focus of the band is mainly on jazz, funky and fusion. The talent of little David is improving very fast and his play technique is better every day. Despite some physical constraints, which issue in his young age, the feeling and the way of his play equals with the play of his adult colleagues. Even though music definitely influenced him for ever, David is very versatile and not only in music. He plays the piano for the third year now. He is above standard intelligent and he attends a primary school for exceptionally talented (accelerated) children. His parents didn’t force him into what he is doing now. They guide him with great sensitivity and they strongly care that he is not hard-pressed. He himself decided to become a drummer and he attentively looks up and admires his idols, as Sonny Emory, Dave Weckl,Steve Gadd and others. Besides unimaginable energy, he is characterized by great communication abilities. When performing and being on stage, he is very spontaneous and loose and freely communicates with the audience. He loves the stage and the enjoyment of the audience. The performances of little David are a great experience for the audience and for the musician colleagues as well. They are generally awarded with ovations. He loves it, but he approaches his success very soberly. He stays decent and he realizes very well that the way he choose to follow his idols is going to be long an complicated. However, he sets his heart on that one day he is going to face up to them.
