About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
I change my about me often. Honestly, I change all my text around on a regular basis. Seems that trying to verbalize what makes me "me" has proven to be rather difficult. I also have a tendency to change my headline more often than this about me. I have a penchant for quoting lines (or whole scripts as the case may be) from my favorite movies and music. They show up in my headline occasionally as well.
I'm shy around people I don't know. Quiet but I play my music loud. I'm sure some would say stubborn. Demi would say, "spoken like a true smartass". I'm very intuitive. Been told I'm empathetic and a good listener. I am such an INFP. Fiercely protective of those I love. Very sensitive and very loyal. Mild case of road rage. If you had to drive the trucker's alley that is I-24, you'd acquire it too. Romantic but not in an obvious way. Sentimental. My girlfriends really dig my Austin Powers infused dancing. Pink loves it when I sing hard rock to her. I love to laugh. Even better, I love someone who makes me laugh.
I guess I'm what you'd call a red-letter Christian but prefer to refer to myself as a "believing heathen". I don't believe other religions to be invalid just a different journey to the same end. I prefer not to claim political party affiliation because in the words of Robin Williams, "Politicians are like diapers. They need to be changed often and for the same reasons." I've voted Republican, Democrat, and Independent and have been equally disgusted with all three. I believe doing what's right is in the best interest of the people.
I may look like a city girl, but I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty. I've wrestled pregnant goats to the ground to deliver distressed kids and can still rock some red lipstick and fierce heels if the occasion calls for it. One of my joys every Summer is watching my Eastern Black Swallowtail caterpillars get plump and later morph into glorious flying flowers. Admiring the night sky also ranks highly on the list especially in Winter. And although I don't much care for the cold, there is no sound more peaceful than of snow falling in the woods. I love easily, break easily, and mend slowly.
Oh...and I occasionally bellydance. Welcome to the jungle...CURRENT MOON about the moon

I'd like to meet:

Contact Table by GDG RequestsPeople I have enough in common with to keep it interesting and enough different to keep it interesting. If you're a nice person who likes to laugh, sing 80's lyrics, and knows the meaning of "I gotta have more cowbell", then we'll probably get along just fine ;-)

Music:

The short list: HUGE soft spot for 80s new wave and rock so I can't even begin to list all of those. Billy Joel. Heart. Bram Stokers Dracula Soundtrack. Journey! (hell yes) U2. GnR. Queensryche. Aerosmith. Bon Jovi. Metallica (Ok, hair metal bands in general. There. I said it.) Nickelback. Maroon 5. Matchbox Twenty. Eagles. John Mellencamp. Curtis Stigers. Orff. Grieg. Tchaikovsky. Billie Holiday. Tony Bennett. Rosemary Clooney. Issa Ghandour. Mohammed Abdel Wahab. Om Kalthoum. Naser Musa. Celia Cruz. Buena Vista Social Club. Cyndi Lauper. Prince. Sarah Brightman. Placido Domingo. Nora Jones. Annie Lennox. Michael Kamen Orchestra. John Williams-the soundtrack god. I love a man that can tear a piano apart. The occasional standard issue alternative piece that breaks through for its 15 minutes of fame. A plethora of pop hits that I like to dance around the house to and on, and on...

Movies:

Bram Stoker's Dracula. The Princess Bride. Underworld (Yeah you heard me. Interspecies dating is hot.) Sense and Sensibility because I want to believe there is a Colonel Brandon. Austin Powers. LOTR but Two Towers is my favorite. Pirates for sheer entertainment value and eye candy. Gone in Sixty Seconds. Indiana Jones. Star Wars. The Goonies. The Breakfast Club. Labyrinth. Legend. Beetlejuice. (I'm an obvious product of my generation...) The Wizard of Oz (The reason for my penchant for red shoes). Anything Peter Pan. Alice in Wonderland. Sleeping Beauty ("Now you shall deal with me oh prince and all the powers of Hell!"). The Color Purple because she overcomes. Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Moonstruck for one scene alone and not the one you think. Any movie with Audrey Hepburn, Gene Kelly, Judy Garland.

Television:

Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations is great. SNL, especially past casts. "I gotta fever and the only prescription is more cowbell." Best skit ever. Reruns of Scrubs and Friends are good for a laugh. Hmmm, seems I have a sarcasm and humor theme. Oh, oh I LOVE watching VH1's "I love the 80s"! (and the 70s. Ok, and the 90s too) Thankfully those aren't on very often.Growing up I loved the Muppets, Addams Family, The Munsters, Bewitched and... Knight Rider. Does that make me a dork? Yes. Yes it does. But Kitt was such a bad ass ;)

Books:

My World Atlas. The Red Tent. Sense and Sensibility. HP series. Twilight series (more inter-species dating). Phantom of the Opera. Wicked: The Life & Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. Poetry. I like to read song lyrics too. I have a more comprehensive list on Facebook.

Heroes:

My mom. My best friend Sooz. Moderate minded people who understand that there is often more than one valid viewpoint and understand the concept that perception is reality. ..
