About Me

Asim is a professional composer, vocalist, songwriter, orchestrator, arranger and producer who’s principal instruments are viola and violin. He has studied viola with world renowned teacher Karen Tuttle. Asim has also studied jazz viola with the dynamic jazz violinist John Blake and has performed with numerous professional organizations and artists. Some of them include Hidden Beach recording artist Kindred, jazz violinist Lisa Terry, Motown recording artist Latif, The Haddonfield Symphony, The Serenata Trio, Ozzie Jones one of the top African American playwrights in the country, the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music Opera Coach Sylvia Lee, The Harlem Festival Orchestra, Gateways Music Festival Orchestra, The Bay Atlantic Symphony, and the extended group of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. Asim was the featured violist on Paul Spencer Atkins (Luciano Pavarotti Competition winner) critically acclaimed album “How can I keep from singing”. Asim has been the string instrumental director of the Lower Merion Summer Music Program for three summer sessions (2002-2004).
Asim possesses perfect pitch will allows him to compose, produce, orchestrate and perform many genres of music (classical to electronic. Asim is currently composing classical pieces which will be performed by some of the finest musicians in the classical music world. They include American classical mandolin virtuoso Neil Gladd and the amazing world renowned classical chamber group, The Amael Trio. Asim's works have been read by mandolin world renowned virtuoso Carlo Aonzo and guitar virtuoso Rene Izquierdo at the 2007 Manhattan Mandolin workshop. Stay tuned for musical updates!
