..I grew up playing the cello from the age of four. With two musician parents and a violinist for a brother, I soon was performing with the Woods Piano Quartet from an early age in South Carolina. After playing in orchestras and freelancing from the eighth grade through high school, I attended USC (South Carolina) and took my studies to the next level. Throughout college I played with the South Carolina Philharmonic, Augusta Symphony (Georgia) and many other ensembles. Not only did my cello teacher Dr. Jesselson push my limits, but jazz professor Bert Ligon also taught me improvisation, which paved the way to playing all styles of music. The jazz strings ensemble had the honor of playing at the IAJE festival with Darol Angor (Turtle Island String Quartet member). Also, I attended the Henry Mancini Jazz Institute Summer program and moved to Los Angeles after finishing school. Since being in Los Angeles, I have played studio work, orchestral works, television shows with famous artists (Tonight shows 6 times, American Music Awards with Josh Groban, American Idol with Reuben, BET Awards with The Game, and many more) and several music videos (Josh Groban), and recorded music for several bands and songwriters. More recently I filmed the Micheal Buble live DVD concert at the Wiltern theater, and am playing with Kanye West, on an MTV show, his live tour dates, the Grammys in Los Angeles, Touch the Sky video, and the Ellen Show. I also recently played with 30 Seconds to Mars live at the Avalon. Check out my new band Bodies Between Us in my top 8 and also another band I play in with Hayley Taylor to see live performances.
I am also working with Producer/Drummer Barrett Yeretsian on a new album, a solo album featuring my vocals/guitar/bass/cello plus the talents of many other talented musicians. So far, I've been lucky enough to work with Drew Lawrence (piano), Mike Thompson (electric guitar), Chris Woods (Violin), and Han Oh (viola.) Be on the lookout! My Interests

First is music- I listen all day long to all types of music. I'm always playing with bands and different groups, and writing my new album with vocals/guitar/drums/strings.! I also love to see new things or try new stuff- I really want to go horseback riding and do some hiking. Love to travel. I have way too much energy to sit around for long. I love other cultures-I love checking out art and festivals. And people watching. And LA is just the place for that. I just wish people were more friendly like in the south. Say hi to somebody for crying out loud. And stop trying so hard to be cool, and just be yourself. Otherwise I will make fun of you relentlessly. And I love animals, ask me about my hamsters from the past, if you have an hour or so.

I'd like to meet:

All Kinds of People. Musicians are cool, at least the ones who are good at what they do. Creative types, who can show me something new or push me to another level. Straying from the beaten path is good. I am looking to meet up with inspired individuals who are motivated and thus a good influence on me as I will try to be on them. And like to dance, and live it up every once in a while, life's too short!

Television:

I do a lot of channel surfing....because really, tv sucks. I'll hate myself because I can't get anything done, and turn into a zombie. So I just watch DVDs and waste money paying for cable. Prison Break is pretty intense, at least season 1 & 2.

Books:

Favorite Books: anything scary, sci fi, art, history. Stephen King, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter. Most recently, Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, and Deception Point by Dan Brown. Had to read up before the movie comes out, right? I always like to read the original story first. I read a lot of fantasy, like Anne McCaffrey, Mercedes Lackey, CS Lewis, Tolken (yes I actually read the books, not just watched the movies). 'The Alchemist' is great too. And 'The Secret', though it doesn't seem to be much of a secret anymore.

Heroes:

My cello teacher Robert Jesselson, my Mom n Dad, Anne Cole, the violinmaker who hooked me up with my dragon cello, for starters. My grandmothers, one of whom has managed to live to 101 so far (hope I have those genes) and the other who has survived having 6 kids. All the musicians who are working on my album with me. Chris, Mike, Drew, Armando, Barrett, Tawnee, Ryan, and Han, you rock!
