About Me

Piano pop song f**k wit. Cabaret tormented punk. Winner of best loser of all time and leader of lost bands galore. Self-described self-obsessive. Heartbreaking heartbroken lover of women. Grandiose champion of the lost cause. I've never played a guitar in my life, and I dance to beats like Waylon Jennings on acid. I try hard not to get out of bed. This is lil ole me...Gentry Bronson.I've been called "Pop's New Piano Man", "Tori Amos with testicles", a "punk rock poet pianist", "a young Tom Waits", and a "new millennium Billy Joel". Others say I'm a pop craftsman, showman and pianist like Ben Folds, Nick Cave, Elton John or David Gray. They make me blush.I started playing piano at age 5, won several MMTA awards for piano performance by age 14, started singing in my first garage band at age 15, and moved to the US West coast as soon as I got out of high school. I tried lead singing, jazz, spoken word, and DJing, before returning to what I know best...telling a story with my voice and a piano. In 2000, I won three NCSA awards for songwriting and my performances. Then, in 2001, I put together a group of musicians and created the Night Watchmen, a band that combined the late night worlds of rock, jazz, pop and cabaret.Since 2001, driven by an indie ethic, I've released 7 CDs. My last released record is a 3-part piano-driven alterna-rock record called "No War". I've toured throughout the U.S. & Europe several times and continue to play shows wherever and whenever. Everything else is just words and pictures until you hear the music and see the show.
