About Me

Read my VisualDNA ™ Get your own VisualDNA™"I am the supreme reality!" - Al-Hallaj
Hi. My name is Ryan. A cool fact: I used to live on a planet made of rainbows and seaweed. My aim in life, if that is not too precise a term, is to relocate outside the bounds of control and definition. I'm pretty good at dreaming and holding my breath underwater. My hobbies include poetic moments and direct perceptions. Someday I will die, but before I go I hope to sneak up on a gnome in the forest or find a golden egg under my bed. All Hail Eris!namaste. Goodbye.
"The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them" - Thomas Merton
"The hard present moment must be pulled out of them, like a set of false teeth. Then they mumble. They go on mumbling, mumbling . . ." -Rilke
"however splendid the gods look in these modern works of art, and whatever dignity and perfection we might find in their images of God the Father and the Virgin Mary, is of no use. We no longer bend our knees." - Hegel
FRED TOMASELLI
"Shams and delusions are esteemed for soundest truths, while reality is fabulous. If men would steadily observe realities only, and not allow themselves to be deluded, life, to compare it with such things as we know, would be a fairy tale and the Arabian Nights' Entertainments. . . By closing the eyes and slumbering, and consenting to be deceived by shows, men establish and confirm their daily life of routine and habit everywhere, which still is built on purely illusory foundations. Children, who play life, discern its true law and relations more clearly than men, who fail to live it worthily, but who think that they are wiser by experience, that is, by failure. . . Men esteem truth remote, in the outskirts of the system, behind the furthest star, before Adam and after the last man. In eternity there is indeed something true and sublime. But all these times and places and occasions are now and here. God himself culminates in the present moment, and will never be more divine in the lapse of all the ages. And we are enabled to apprehend at all what is sublime and noble only by the perpetual instilling and drenching of the reality that surrounds us." - Henry David Thoreau
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed." -- Albert Einstein
“Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known.” - Pooh

"For the total development of the human being, solitude as a means of cultivating sensitivity becomes a necessity. One has to know what it is to be alone, what it is to meditate, what it is to die; and the implications of solitude, of meditation, of death, can be known only by seeking them out." - Jiddu Krishnamurti
