About Me

Call me a band ho if you must, but trust me, I only play music I truly adore....
I've been playing music since I was 6. First piano, then guitar. I went to high school and college for music, but had debilitating stage fright til I was 21. I got over it. Now I'm a full time professional musician. I sing, write songs, play guitar, bass, drums, percussion and harmonica. You want me to play it? Just ask.
I've toured Europe and/or the USA with Band Of Susans, Siberia, Lida Husik, Ronnie Spector, Wilson Pickett, Demolition String Band, Jen Elliot and Bluestruck, The Kowalskis, Deni Bonet, and all by myself!
I've been on David Letterman and in the movie Only The Strong Survive as a member of Wilson Pickett's band. I played bass in the off-Bway and Chicago productions of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. I co-write with Trebor Lloyd (president of City Canyons Records) for many artists, including Jen Elliott and Bluestruck. (Look for the cd "Songs of Trebor Lloyd and Anne Husick" to be released on City Canyons Records in the not too distant future.) I also write with Jen for Bluestruck and our acoustic duet, Jen-n-Anne Acoustic. And I write with Morgan Cronheim for our rockin' band BART FOX. I've also written loads of other songs myself that I've included on numerous demos and a cd INTERNATIONAL SWEETHEART which I recorded for Rainbow Quartz Records - www.cdbaby.com/cd/Shameless.
I've shared bills with such luminaries as The Mekons, The Stranglers, Jesus and Mary Chain, Patti Smith, Lenny Kaye, Jim Carroll, The Dictators, Stereolab, Beat Happening, The Afghan Whigs, Chris Whitley, AC Temple, Dog-Faced Hermans, Icicle Works, Nils Lofgren, Kansas, Southern Culture On The Skids, The Silos, The Indigo Girls, The Bacon Brothers, Sleater-Kinney, The Dictators, The Muffs, Mo Tucker, All/Descendents, Kings Of Leon, Moldy Peaches, Kimya Dawson, Jeffrey Lewis, The Four Tops, The Fifth Dimension, The Temptations, and Nelly McKay.
I've had the honor of playing guitar and singing with Joey Ramone. I sing backing vocals on Ronnie Spector's latest cd THE LAST OF THE ROCK STARS, including a couple of songs featuring Keith Richards. I sang Rosalita with Bruce Springsteen onstage at Carnegie Hall - check out the cover of Backstreets Magazine. That's ME! I've played in bands with members of Television, The Waitresses, The Washington Squares, Southside Johnny, Lenny Kaye, Cyndi Lauper, The Church, The Psychedelic Furs, Phoebe Snow, Henry Rollins, J. Geils Band, Bruce Springsteen's Seeger Session Band, and The Uptown Horns.
I also play / have played in a slew of local bands including Ground Control, Bill Popp and the Tapes, The Big Picture, Liarface, Spacegirl, Lach and the Sextet Offensive, Lenny Molotov and the Illuminoids, Joe Bendik and the Heathens, Roxanne Fontana, Zane Campbell and the Dry Drunks, Tricia Scotti Band, Geoking, Geoff Notkin's Big Band Punk Band, Anne Husick & Robert Knot Watkins, Jen-n-Anne Acoustic (formerly Pippy and Hippy), Bendik, Morg-Anne, BART FOX, Timothy Dark, Lisa Bianco, and Eric Neher.
I did sound for 2 years at The Fort @ Sidewalk Cafe, home of NY antifolk.
Now aside from writing, recording, and gigging, I teach guitar, bass and voice lessons at NYC Guitar School. Check it out... www.nycguitarschool.com
