Tricia Scotti

Whatever you are, be a good one.

About Me

Tricia grew up on the North Fork of eastern Long Island, New York, on a marina, and on the beach-as a kid she pumped gas for the city slicker boat people in the summer, and made up songs on her tiny guitar in the winter when there was nothing else to do. She and her sister Jacqy had a duo called The Scotti Sisters; they performed in churches, toured a little, played on local cable tv, and also managed to start a riot at the public high school, with police, arrests, suspensions, newspaper write-ups, your usual high school inspirations for songs and ideas later to come. Tricia said goodbye to school at 15, the Scotti Sisters cashed it in soon after and she went out on her own. Within a few years she was writing and starting to record original songs, eventually performing, recording and touring with her band whose past and present members include many talented musicians with whom she has had the pleasure to play with and make music.Tricia has also shared the stage and accompanied on guitar and/or vocals artists such as Joey Ramone, Beth Orton, and Keith Richards. Since 1999 she has been a 'new Ronette' performing and recording as a guitarist and vocalist with legendary Ronettes vocalist Ronnie Spector and sings on Ronnie's recent release on Laughing Outlaw Records 'The Last of the Rock Stars.' Tricia also sang backup for Wilson Pickett and appears with Wilson in D.A. Pennebaker's documentary of soul music 'Only the Strong Survive.' She was performing in the original off-broadway rock musical 'People are Wrong!' at the Vineyard Theatre in NYC, (co-starring They Might be Giants' John Flansburgh), when the idea came up to record her original music at the theater. She and her friends and fellow musicians Jon Spurney (Susan McEown, Royston Langdon), Joe McGinty (Ryan Adams, Nada Surf), Jeremy Chatzky (Bruce Springsteen, Laura Cantrell) and Clem Waldmann (Blue Man Group) recorded the record 'Love, from the Vineyard'.
