New York City based singer/composer/performer. Recently, I reorchestrated and conducted HAIR for NYU and Theater Mitu. www.theatermitu.org. Performance credits include shows at Joe's Pub (solo as well as with Loser's Lounge, and John Cameron Mitchell and Scott Matthew), Rockwood Music Hall, The Knitting Factory, Bowery Ballroom, Tonic (with FRANCES), and clubs outside of NYC including Southgate House and Alchemize in Cincinnati. As a composer for theater: Theater Mitu (company in residence at New York Theatre Workshop), La Tea, Sundance Theater Lab, NYU, Juilliard, New York Musical Theater Festival (PEOPLE LIKE US, Peterborough Players (best new play, New Hampshire), and Coconut Grove Playhouse. As a composer for recordings and films: WTC VIEW (feature film by Brian Sloan), A Wind Has Blown the Rain Away (Songs of Ellen Mandel, "I wish I could give this CD to every poetry lover I know"--NPR ALL THINGS CONSIDERED), Deep North Woods ("A talented man with voice and pen."--Village Voice), as well as recordings with Ronnie Spector, Ruby Vileos, Staggering Statistics, Louis Schwadron, and others. As a performer, the first actor after Jefferson Mayes to play Charlotte in I AM MY OWN WIFE. Other roles include, Hedwig in HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, Bernard in A NUMBER, Mikey in PEOPLE ARE WRONG with They Might Be Giants front-man John Flansburgh, and numerous other productions at theaters including Actors Theater of Louisville, Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati, PaperMill Playhouse, Peterborough Players, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Florida Studio Theater, Vineyard Theater. Upcoming projects include an original piece called MOONCHILD for NYU written with Ben Fox and Ruben Polendo of Theater Mitu, an original rock opera with composer Paul Hogan entitled THE FIRST AND LAST PHOTOGRAPH, and a new solo recording produced by John Curley, entitled MEXICO CITY.
