With overtones of Sinead OConnor and Annie Lennox, Maggie is an artist with universal appeal.The album displays Maggie's fine song writing capabilities with a blend of melodic contemporary tracks. Recorded in Grouse Lodge studios in , the album is distributed under independent label Cooleevin Records and is available from a variety of outlets and at www.maggiekhiane.com.Recent gigs have seen her opening for Damien Dempsey, Josh Ritter, Hazel OConnor and The Walls.Originally from Dublin, Maggie started singing on the Dublin circuit doing gigs in local venues with musicians such as Martin Black. After the birth of her daughter she began writing her own material, moving on to work with Donal Lunny, who produced her first single, Special. Joining forces with Andy McCluskey of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark she was vocalist on his album Universal. Maggie also featured on Noel Brazils album, The Land of Love. Previous single Luna was well received by Mojo Magazine, referring to "her breathy voice sprinkling moondust" over the musical arrangements.On stage Maggie is as comfortable singing unaccompanied known for her stunning opening capellos to low key acoustic and full band performances.Maggie is constantly writing new material and regularly escapes to the wilds of Donegal to compose.
