Is It Breaks? has been resident in Camden since January of 2006 and is the latest chapter in The Buck's Head's long relationship with underground dance music. Recent guests in Camden include Hoffman, Olspin, The Groove Diggerz and Introspective. More recently Is It Breaks? has found a new home at The Pool on Curtain Road in Shoreditch. To kick start the new residency, proceedings included sets from Fat! resident Merka, Italy's Plaza de Funk and the TCR and Rec Records main man - Chris Carter. And of course the eclectic sound of the Is It Breaks residents: DJs Kapiche, Lo-Jack and Ali Dubya.
DJ Kapiche has been mixing since 1998. Since then he has played out across the globe, alongside some of the biggest names in breaks. Including Aquasky, Deekline, Quest and MC IC3. Whilst in Australia Kapiche secured a residency at the legendary Vibe Bar in Melbourne. He even managed to get himself a booking alongside Krafty Kuts on his way back to Blighty at The Platinum Bar on the island of Ko Samui in Thailand! More recently Kapiche has been found southbound at Influenza in Southampton ripping things up with Ben & Lex, Steelzawheelz and Hoffman.
However, his resume goes beyond his mixing talent. Kapiche has written for the award winning magazines; Mofo and One Week To Live.
Lo-Jack, co-founder of Is It Breaks? has been mixng for about 4years and used to DJ with Ali Dubya in Reading. Since their first outing alongside The Groove Diggerz and The Breakfastaz they haven't looked back.
As well as the three resident DJs, the Is It Breaks? family extends to Darren and Gemma our two promotional gurus. When she's not pimping Is It Breaks? Gemma can be found at the Chew The Fat! office keeping Paul Arnold in check and assisting Kid Blue in the running of the Fat! DJ Agency.}
