Percussion, Jeet Kune Do, Krav Maga... basically anything that involves me hitting something! On the flip side... yoga, meditating, and relaxing to offset all the damage I do to myself for my job. It's all about balance!
My maternal grandmother (who passed away long before I was born). She was a gutsy lady who stood up to U.S. troops during WWII when they tried to take over their beautiful home in Osaka to use as a residence for high-ranking officers during the occupation. (When I say beautiful, I mean a home with traditional tatami mats, shoji paper screens, and a traditional Japanese garden in the back with pond, koi fish, etc.) She found a loophole in the law saying they couldn't take over schools, and so she turned the home into a dance school and taught ballroom dancing!
