ARTHEL NEVILLE delivers. And, she does it with a unique blend of intellect and personality making her one of the most viable journalists in the market today. Throughout her career television network executives have called upon her to be the brand name used in launching shows and pinch-hitting on existing ones.
Arthel started her multi-award-winning career as a general assignment reporter for KVUE in Austin while a journalism student at University of Texas. She later worked as a reporter in Houston at KHOU-TV, and in her hometown of New Orleans as a reporter/anchor for WWL and WVUE.
Arthel blazed many trails in broadcasting and news. As the first African-American female to host her own daily show on CNN with Talkback Live with Arthel Neville, Arthel reported on and participated in discussions about in-depth issues making headlines around the world. The show presented news of the day and featured live interaction with audience members and guests in-studio and via satellite, phone, and Internet. Arthel also anchored morning and daytime news, and co-anchored weekend news with Anderson Cooper from CNN's headquarters in Atlanta and the network's street-level studio in Midtown Manhattan. She had tackled that same assignment up the street at the Fox News Channel. Arthel also handled A-list celebrity interviews for the cable network.
While at the Fox News Channel, Bill O'Reilly approached Arthel about doing a weekly segment on his show, The O'Reilly Factor, in which she went head-to-head with the outspoken O'Reilly. The segment became an instant hit and their weekly tête-à -tête was so successful that Bill offered Arthel a co-hosting spot on his nationally syndicated talk radio show, The Radio Factor. But, Arthel couldn't refuse the offer from CNN.
After CNN, Arthel rejoined the FOX News family. As the West Coast bureau chief for Geraldo-At-Large, and correspondent for A Current Affair, Arthel reported on countless national headlines and her coverage of Hurricane Katrina garnered critical acclaim.
On the syndication and entertainment front, Arthel hosted and produced her one-on-one celebrity interview show Extreme Closeup on E! Entertainment Television. She filed over 200 thirty-minute conversations with Who's Who in Hollywood, becoming the first high-profile Black female entertainment reporter. Following her groundbreaking show on E! Arthel beat out over 1,000 hopefuls to launch Extra for Warner Bros. Studios, where she would deliver entertainment headlines to millions of homes every evening. She also co-hosted Fox's Good Day Live with Steve Edwards and Debbie Matenopoulous.
In addition to this, Arthel has guest hosted on The View, Live (with Regis Philbin), and co-hosted the Miss Teen USA Pageant with Dick Clark and the Miss Universe Pageant to a worldwide audience of over 60 million people.
Arthel was recognized by the University of Texas for her contribution to broadcast journalism with the Outstanding Young Texas Ex Award, which is bestowed upon University of Texas alumnae who've reached a level of excellence in their respective fields.
Arthel can currently be seen on Sky TV, Fox’s sister network in the United Kingdom. Her one-on-one celebrity interview show Conversations with Arthel Neville is produced through her company, A Purple Thellie Production, and airs every Sunday at 6:30pm on Sky's My Channel to 9 million homes in England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and the Channel Islands, with spillover into France, Spain, and Italy.
A CNN colleague once said, "Everybody loves being on camera, but the camera loves Arthel."
Experience, personality, credibility, and likeability; Arthel Neville is a true renaissance broadcaster who maintains a fresh approach that continues to grab and engage television viewers.
