About Me
Okay, I've finally decided to put up a site to start to promote my music, and upcoming album "Scenes From an Imaginary Movie". I always feel really uncomfortable talking about myself, but I guess that's what this whole section is for. So here goes:I'm an LA based guitarist (and sometimes singer), and I've played and recorded with a lot of famous people, but I don't think anyone has really had a chance to hear what music I like to listen to. I've played with everyone from Jazz greats (George Duke, Tom Scott, Al Jarreau) to Country stars (Leann Rimes, LeeAnn Womack) as well as Pop stars (Christina Aguilera, Josh Groban, Jennifer Lopez), but I always come home and listen to singer songwriters and classic rock and country. As a result, I decided to start writing music that I thought I'd like to hear more of, and the result is "Scenes form and Imaginary Movie." I look at the record as an eclectic singer/songwriter record where the voice just happens to be guitar (yes...it's primarily instrumental). I tried to just write music that was evocative, and hopefully emotional and beautiful. The making of the album has been a blast, and I was able to bring in some of my favorite musicians. it's not quite done yet, but has performances from some amazing guys like Darryl Jones (Rolling Stones, Miles Davis), Tony Franklin (Blue Murder, The Firm, Whitesnake), Curt Bisquera (Tom Petty, Bonnie Raitt, every album you've ever bought), John Pierce (Huey Lewis and the News, tons of sessions), Nate Morton (Rockstar House Band, and one of my best friends), Jeff Babko (Simon Phillips, Toto), Freddie Washington (Steely Dan, Michael Jackson, every other record you've every owned), Herman Matthews (Kenny Loggins, Richard Marx), and so many others (sorry if I didn't mention you, I'm blanking, but I promise you'll be in the album sleeve).Anyway, I hope you enjoy, and I'll try to post clips when they're ready. Peace, and everyone be nice to one another.Tariqh
