The Mercy Call

About Me

The story of The Mercy Call started back in 2003, and is an amazing tale of passion, perseverance and rock n roll.It all began with guitarist, Craig Maguire, who had a vision to bring together talented, creative and dedicated musicians to create an explosive, compelling no-holds- barred rock band. Four years on, that search is complete. And The Mercy Call has their sights set on world domination.Drummer, Liz Curran sets the scene by effortlessly providing driven, solid, sophisticated beats with a style all her own.Liz paves the way for her rhythmic cohort, Mungo Worth to weave his magic on bass, creating a heart pounding and unyielding counterpoint to the razor-edge, grinding riffs of lead guitarist Craig Maguire.Craig leads the melodic charge with a display of true to form rock guitar.Dynamic and engaging front woman, Kirt Hines captivates audiences with her incredible powerhouse voice. Her stage presence oozes raw robust emotion and demands the attention of everyone in the room.Performing live, The Mercy Call excels at providing their own brand of original hard rock, having played to audiences in a full spectrum of Sydney and Newcastle venues. Most notably: The Cambridge Hotel, Excelsior Hotel, The Lucky Country, Vic on the Park, Deck Bar, Queens Wharf Brewery and the ANU Bar.The band has also been featured on local radio, including NewFM and Gosford 2cccFM. The Mercy Call’s debut EP titled “Linger” was released in 2006. Bassist Mungo displayed his natural affinity with sound, by producing and mixing the album, giving it the atavistic edge that the band were striving for. The impassioned music of The Mercy Call is sincere and emotion charged, imploring listeners to share the band’s astonishing, altruistic hard rock journey. The future is looking bright for The Mercy Call, with plans to record their second EP in the latter half of 2007. The beginning of 2008 will see the band embark on an East Coast tour, putting out the call to audiences in both Metropolitan and Regional areas. Will you answer the call? Erika Lee TRC Promotion
