Steven Finn

I began to teach myself the guitar when I was 15 years old on hearing Bob Dylan sing Mr Tambourine Man. I knew then that was the only thing I would do. I began playing in folk clubs in the North of England singing the songs I couldn't stop writing. Around this time I started listening to Sonny Boy Williamson II and Sonny Terry and my harp style started here. In 1999 I recorded an album entitled 'Before the flood' with Andrew Dinan and Jonjo Kelly on Small World records and I then toured extensively with these inspiring musicians. As a solo performer I've played gigs with Martin Carthy, Rory Macleod, Elvis Costello, Issac Guillory,Kathryn Tickell,Lunasa, Capercaille and the Beautiful South, with whom I toured as support in 1998, and many others. I played guitar for Emiliana Torrini for two years and have now just finished my debut album.
