About Me

I'm an author of non-fiction books. I have penned three thus far and am currently working on my fourth, A WAR OF WORDS, which will be released next year by Sterling (a subsidiary of Barnes and Noble). My most recent book, IN THE DARK: THE TRUE STORY OF THE BLACKOUT RIPPER , published last year by Penguin, tells the tale of Scotland Yard's hunt for a Jack-the-Ripper type killer in 1940s London.
ON THE HOUSE: THE BIZARRE KILLING OF MICHAEL MALLOY, also published by Penguin, hit stores in October 2004. The story of New York City's most outrageous murder, it's an account of criminal stupidity at its grandest.
THE KILLING SKIES, my third book, is something of a departure. Six years of researching and writing, the book is a detailed history of the British bomber offensive against Nazi Germany during the Second World War.

My Interests

Eating steak and drinking in pubs. When I'm not pursuing my vices, I enjoy most outdoor activities, writing, reading, messing around on the piano and trying to sell more books!

I'd like to meet:

Always wanted to have a glass of gin with Ian Fleming, a cigar with Winston Churchill and a scotch with Hunter S. Thompson.

Music:

Movies:

Unforgiven, Heat, The Insider, The Great Escape, The Big Lebowski. Aside from a few exaggerations, the James Bond movies have done a good job bringing my life to the screen.

Always remember:

Television:

Not a big television guy in general . . . but I am addicted to HOUSE.

Books:

Where to even begin . . .? Steinbeck, Stephen King, John O'Hara, Truman Capote, Shane Stevens, Martin Amis, Ian Fleming, Bill Fitzhugh, Clive Barker . . . the list goes on and on.

My Blog

New book deal . . .

Union Square Press, a subsidiary of Sterling Publishing (the publishing arm of Barnes and Noble), has purchased my latest non-fiction tale of sex and murder. WAR OF WORDS, a sordid adventure set in 1...
