About Me

Hello, we are The Jena Tonics. Before reading our bio please realize that mentally and musically, we have killed the line of separation between women and men in music. We do not use our all chick aspect to score us any higher in the publicity region. We are proud to be all girls, simply because we don't acknowledge the difference. We work as musicians, think of ourselves as musicians, and nothing more.
We have been together since 03' and have been staying strong after our lead singer moved to California in 05'. Throughout our career we have come to realize that it is quite difficult to classify us into a specific genre. We have never had a solid inspiration other than each other. Our sound has become our own. We have an alternative twist, but most of our work has not been pushed toward sounding like anything that is too classified. We released our first demo in 03' which was followed by a far more matured EP, The Distance EP, in 04'. In 2006 we released our first self released album, Please Mind the Garbage. For the past two years we have been writing and publicizing our material. We currently are working on a new album which we plan to release around October of 2008, we are personally very impressed with the progress we have made since the band started and are stoked on the new album being that the inspiration for it has been pulled from so many places.
Our lady members are Madeleine Evans - drums, Leah Bodenhamer - lead guitar, back up vocals, Elise Gordon - bass, and Ally Hasche - rhythm guitar and lead vocals. With the band split between California and Colorado, we have incorporated many new sounds in our new material due to a large branch of ideas. After releasing our new album we plan to tour summer of 09'. We look forward pushing our music throughout the next few years. Keep updated. We love our fans. peace and love.
