Aaron

Just give me a scene where the music is free, and the beer is not the life of the party..........

About Me

If I could have chosen where God would hide his heaven, I would wish for it to be in the salt and swell of the ocean, carried by the currents to all continents' shores, reaching into depths where the sun’s light has never shown. Mixed with algae and coral, breathed in by sharks and dolphins. Sailed by tanker ships, private yachts, swam in by tourists. Working its way up through inlets, lakes, and rivers, swamps, and estuaries, down through limestone into the aquifer. Purified by the county, pumped through pipes and out faucets, filled into a glass to meet the thirst of our children.
I am also occasionally known as Aaron, the God Of Music
and Aaron, The Film Mortal
two names that a couple of people (well, one person and a zombie, actually) called me by one day and another, and I felt honored by the titles, and I suppose they fit.
First off, about myspace and all, if you want to add me and 1)-we haven't ever met, 2)-I don't know you personally, or 3)-I may not recognize you solely from your profile, send me a message as well as the request and tell me who you are and why you want to add me, because if you just send me a request and I don't recognize you from anywhere and it doesn't seem that we have anything in common, it's likely I'll just deny the request since I don't know who you are. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for meeting new people, but we've gotta have something in common to connect us in some way, otherwise we'll have nothing to talk about or relate to each other about and all we'll end up doing is cluttering up each others' friends lists. Thanks! Now on to the opinions...

Oh, right, this is the about me section....
Okay, so I finally caved. After more than a year of being a myspace-hater, I was finally convinced to get an account on this site (despite the fact that it's owned by Rupert Murdoch). And actually, it has turned out to be a very good thing. There are many many many people who I would not be in such close contact with if not for this website. It really has changed the way we as young people interact. The sociology of it is astounding. Who knows what would be different today if it wasn't for myspace? My guess is a quite a bit, at least for me...
Anyway, I'm pretty much only on here as a way to keep updated on and in contact with bands, meeting like-minded people who I can relate to and potentially one day actually meet and befriend in real life, as well as idly talking to people I know. (I know, I know, that part can be bit of a waste of time, but you're guilty of it too if you've found and are reading this amongst the rest of the clutter on my page. HA!)
But that doesn't mean I won't be your "friend" if you find me on here and ask me to be! Meeting new people and making new friends is one of my favorite things to do. Unless you're one of those damn porn-robot sites. Although if you were a porn robot site, you wouldn't be reading and comprehending these sentences anyway, so never mind.
When it comes to the friends list on here, all I ask is this: if we don't know each other, we better at least have something in common, and we also better talk fairly often and possibly actually meet at some point if that's in the cards. If you add me because we do have something in common and then we never talk and the only thing I see from you are bulletined reposted surveys and such, I'll probably delete you during the next "friends list weeding session". So be talkative!

My Interests

If you want it, my phone number's in my blog, just hit "View All Blog Entries" and scroll all the way down. It's at the bottom.

-------------------------------------

George: Fuck you and your "moral value" hypocrite bullshit, you drive-drunk illiterate halfwit. Murdering liar, thieving denier, even Jesus hates you and he's sick of you dropping his name.

-Black President

They sent your son, with a plan
to fight some war in a desert land.
He ain't gonna come home again, he's making some money for a Texas man.

Helicopters in the sky.
All the little soldiers die.
Mothers and their daughters cry
because of politicians' lies!

Watch this. It's quite neat.

My general interests.....

People, and the sociological observation thereof.
Experiencing music in every way except for playing it.
Record collecting , filmmaking, art of all kinds, writing, reading, photography, nature, traveling, discussing / debating politics,
and most of all, hanging out with the people I love.
Oh, and The Onion.

While I do thoroughly enjoy all of the above things plus countless more, what is really consuming my life right now is music. Shows shows shows, bands bands bands, records records records, managing From the Mouth of Cthulhu.
Usually you can find me at a show, scroll down to my calendar (right above the friends area) to see what upcoming shows I'll be at, and come to them! Chances are they'll be good shows if I'll be there.....)
And what really takes up my time right now is combining my love for music with my love for filmmaking: I film a lot of concerts. Mostly local Colorado bands, but I have filmed quite a few national bands that have come through here as well. Bands I have shot include Throw Rag, Fair To Midland, Valient Thorr, Riverboat Gamblers, Leftöver Crack, Clit 45, Bullets And Octane, L.A. Guns, Murder By Death, The Sex Boys, Brides Of Destruction, Gogol Bordello, Satellite Party, Casket Salesmen, Th' Legendary Shack Shakers, Cheap Sex, The Code, Lower Class Brats, The Dead Pets, Brain Failure, Time Again, The Briggs, Big D And The Kids Table, Whole Wheat Bread, Street Dogs, UK Subs, and The Casualties, plus many more. I'm usually up to shoot a show, so if you want to know more about my videography services, go HERE and check it out!

^one of the most incredible bands in the world....

I'd like to meet:

Anyone interesting. Perhaps you?
You know, it's funny: I just recently realized that this section was probably meant to be "what kind of people I'd like to meet as an end result of making a myspace account", but almost everyone puts down celebrities or musicians they are fans of. I always thought it was kind of arbitrary and irrelevant to have a section dedicated to what famous people a person would like to meet... and now the section makes sense. But hey, we've all got at least one household name we'd like to meet, right? Of course we do. So here are mine.
Practically any band I'm into, although I have had the pleasure of meeting many of them already. Some I haven't met..... Nikki Sixx, Ozzy Osbourne, Marilyn Manson, Serj Tankian, Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian, John Dolmayan, Scorcho The Poet, Trey Parker, Matt Stone, this is another list that could continue for quite some time........................................................ ..................

What You Need To Believe To Be A Republican:
Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton.
Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him, and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion.
Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is Communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony.
The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq.
A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation.
The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches, while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay.
If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex.
A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies, then demand their cooperation and money.
Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy, but providing health care to all Americans is socialism. HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart.
Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools.
A president lying about an extramarital affair is a impeachable offense, but a president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.
Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet.
The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but George Bush's driving record is none of our business.
Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery.
Supporting "Executive Privilege" for every Republican ever born, who will be born or who might be born ( in perpetuity.)
What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the '80s is irrelevant.
Support for hunters who shoot their friends and blame them for wearing orange vests similar to those worn by the quail.
FRIENDS DON'T LET FRIENDS VOTE REPUBLICAN!

1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, liposuction and air conditioning.
2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.
7) Obviously, gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
9) Children can never succeed without both a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans...
One of the saddest parts about our society is that these arguments, before the humorous common sense, are the real reasons why people can't accept gay marriages. Open your eyes people. Logic and tolerance before "religion" and its closedmindedness, fuckers.

The mighty concert calendar! Come to these shows. DO IT!

Oh god, this is going to take forever. For starters, I am a vinyl fanatic, and I completely contend that it is a vastly superior medium to CDs in terms of sound quality (plus it's really fun and addicting to collect) So go HERE to view my record collection. Heroes:

My parents.
From the Mouth of Cthulhu for collectively being one of the greatest bands ever, for letting me be their manager, and for being some of the greatest friends anyone could ask for. Plus the fact that they're all musical geniuses, and due to their talent and creativity they blow my mind almost every time I hear a new song for the first time, or even just see a show of theirs. The best experiences of my life have all somehow been related to this band thus far, with the prospect of more to come.... thanks for everything, guys. "Prepare for life to go from ordinary to extraordinary."
AJ Bighead circa summer 2005 for writing the hands-down best political- and social-commentary lyrics ever. Period. He basically says all the things I am usually thinking about society and politics, but I'm not articulate and witty enough to put it into words like he can. And they rhyme! Every time I read a new song / rant, I am blown away. There used to be a site with all of his writing up on it, but somehow it all got deleted. Damn.
The Chelsea Smiles for being fucking awesome and for getting me into the 21+ them/B.O.D. show.
Katherine Jashinski and all conscientious ojectors everywhere, and anyone who stands up for their beliefs in peace, justice, equality, anti-homophobia, anti-fascism, anti-militarism, pro-choice, pro-equal rights, and the good of humanity.
Time Again, The Briggs, and Louis/Angel City Outcasts because they are awesome, completely and all around, and have been for as long as I've known them.
Lemmy Kilmister for his sense of humor.
And also Fair To Midland, Throw Rag, The Mansfields, Bullets and Octane, Charley Horse, Geoff Kresge, Tracii Guns, London LeGrand, David Kekone, and Shäwn Smäsh for always being really really fucking cool to us whenever we see them.
