GRAPHIC FANTASY THE MOVIE Over the past few years, my friends and I have been working on this movie project: Graphic Fantasy! An Indie-film about three pop-culture, comic book collecting friends, who win their ways to the World's Largest Multi-Genre Convention... In the World!!! Their misadventures to and at, the numerous cast of characters they meet, and a mysterious stranger who travels with them.
First there is TOM, who is probably the worst geek alive, in search of a "mythical" comic book from his youth, Graphic Fantasy; Then there is MIKE, just along for the ride and still hooked up on a horrible ex-girlfriend from years ago; Then NATHAN, who is a fan of almost everything, and never seems to worry about women liking him (a lot); Oh... and let us not forget the evil stranger and Anti-Geek ALLEN, so far from geek it's almost criminal!!!
The title and plot device are based around the first appearance of "The Savage Dragon", by Erik Larsen (Image Comics), from the pages of his 1980's independent comic series, called Graphic Fantasy.
We have filmed on location all around our hometown of Lafayette, Indiana, at Von's shops, Mad Mushroom Pizza, Blue Moon Comics and Castle Comics. We have also shot at multiple locations around the nation: We worked with Wizard Entertainment, and they allowed us to film at both the Chicago and Philadelphia comic book conventions 2003-2005; We filmed many scenes in Minnesota as well, at the MNCBA Fall-con '03, Source comic shop, and the Eden Prairie Center Mall (Mallrats); We've filmed at Flashback Weekend, Horror Fest, G-fest, the Motor-City Con, CreationCon, SW Celebration, ACEN, etc.
With many famous guest appearances from some of Geekdom's Top Stars, like: Sean Astin (LOTR, Goonies), Kevin Smith (Clerks, Mallrats), Walt Flanagan and Bryan Johnson (Vulgar, Clerks), Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, Spiderman), Tom Sullivan (FX, Makeup + Design, Evil Dead series), Brian Posehn & Eugene Mirman (Comedians of Comedy), Lou Ferrigno (Incredible Hulk), Nichelle Nichols (Uhura on Star Trek), Dazza Del Rio (Scorpion King, Model), Ian & Axel Rotten and Chris Hero (IWA-Wrestlers), Kaiju Big-Battle, and several SURPRISE others!!!
Let us not forget the comic book writers, artists, and creators that also make appearances, like: Erik Larson (Image, Savage Dragon), Tony Moore (Battle Pope), Josh Blaylock (Devil's Due, G.I. Joe), Tim Seely (G.I. Joe, Hack/Slash, Lovebunny + Mr. Hell), Matt Feazell (Not Available comics, Disney), Pat Gleason (Aquaman, Noble Causes), Matt Wendt (Family Guy, Void, Baby Ninjas), Doug Paszkiewicz (Arsenic Lullaby), Gary Carlson (Image, Big Bang, Megaton comics), Troy Hickman (Holey Crullers, Common Grounds), Pam Bliss (Paradise Valley Comics, Sparky), Mike Rittenhouse and Tom Perry (POTC, Bob and Hal), and again MANY more!!!
Featuring an ever changing, ever growing soundtrack, with songs by: Rilo Kiley (Jenny Lewis and Blake Sennett), The Smoking Popes (Duvall), OZMA, Jump Little Children, Coyote Shivers, Walker, Little Voice, Mixelpricks, 72 Others, Mazinga, etc.
This is a NO-budget, self-financed feature length film; with an accompanying documentary, behind the scenes, a making of, outtakes, etc. The movie is now in post-production and is ready for full edit, it has been selected for many upcoming film festivals in the next couple years, and is up for DVD and VHS release by the end of 2007. Both Synapse Films and Lion's Gate Studios have also expressed interest, on possible distribution. This film is copyright through the Library of Congress.

My score on... The True Geek Test :
The Simple Geek
(You answered 80% of the questions as a geek truly would.)
You don't seem to sway in either direction, however you still seem to have some latent geek attributes within you. Maybe you're interested in computers but not a gamer? Maybe you've got geek hobbies but none of the awkward social tendencies.
The simple geek usually has various quirks that friends may make fun of, but in general can be considered a fairly normal person. Your geek attributes make you less likely to conform to society. The popular kids don't hate you but the geeks don't either, so it's a respectable demographic.
