It comes from within deep. Evoking Emotions of how life can sometimes bring you down but you look towards the heavens to make it all better. That is what this is. Uplifting as well as sad with a bit of reality.

Influences: Gil Scott Heron, The Last Poets, Nikki Giovani, Sonia Sanchez, Audre Lorde, Edger Allen Poe, Amire Baracka, and all the poets of the past. Also poets that influence me today are Taalam Acey, Saul Williams, Micheal Guinn, Jenean Livingston, Andrea "Vocab" Sanderson, Mohagony Browne, and AJ Houston, the whole Ft. Worth Slam team. My musical insperation includes: Rakim, De La Soul, Run DMC, KRS One and the whole Boogie Down Productions, Talib Kweli, Hi Tek, Mos Def, Common, The Roots, Musiq, Anthony Hamilton, Pru, Heather Headly, Kem, Floetry, John Legend, the whole neo-soul and true hip hop movement. Other influences are the prophets without whom we would not know the living word as we read it, the Quran, and the Tora. Isa (Jesus), Mohammad, Abraham, his two son Ishmel and Isical (misspelled, no one is perfect). Personal influence are most importantently my daughter (Alianna) without whom I would not be the man I am today, her mother because she is rasing her to be a woman, my ex-brother-in-law for being an angel to me when shit was bad, got to give it up to the woman who gave birth to me (moms), my sister for always telling me to keep my head up, my ex girlfriend if it wasn't for her I would have been walking around in a state of confussion and always denying what love is all about, another great influence was me going throught my cancer. I know God has a plan for me and I will figure it out when it is time for me to know. Al hamdil l lahh....."If I didn't define myself for myself, I would be crunched into other people's fantasies for me and eaten alive." by Audre Lorde

What is your Deepest Fear?“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~Marianne Williamson
