Poetry is nearer to vital truth than history.

The Home for Wayward Poets is a poetry non-profit group committed to keeping poetry and other various forms of performance art, music, and literature alive in Oklahoma. Founded in 1998, we initially were dispondant after our venue Medina's closed, and we ventured to other people's houses to have weekly readings. We were then situated at Galileo's Bar and Grill where the Home for Wayward Poets hosted weekly readings, published books, and a spoken word CDs, and was a proud sponsor of Oklahoma City's delegation to the National Poetry Slam each year. We continue making the huge effort to help cultivate and promote both aspiring and established writers, as well as bring further national and literary awareness to Oklahoma.
Poets hit us up if you are coming through.
