A Spoon Full of Music Helps The Awareness Go Down!
I worked at the Santa Monica Civic in it's heyday, 1972-1980's. I still get in free! I love Mother Nature! Especially SKY EVENTS! Surgery tech at SM Hospital 1972-76. Burned out and started my own floral design business. I pride myself on donating my time/flowers/production skills to many Aids charity events. I work out of my home, designing flowers for clients homes, weddings/funerals/special events.
I collect and sell Hot Wheels, records, antiques, clothes, books, photos, posters, memorabilia, kitchen sinks, Ha-Ha! I also donate Hot Wheels to the Make-A-Wish foundation and local underprivileged children.
In May 2001, I organized, produced, worked my ass off, on a benefit for the California Aids Ride. We called it "Party at the Ponderosa", I borrowed a friends ranch in Tarzana. Over 10 local bands donated their time, Kanary, Smellyroses, Katya, De De Troit and the Cotton Ponys, Flux, U.X.A, Dirty Diana, and others. I managed to get the stage donated from a Jodi Foster film, food from Jodi Maroni, all kinds of fabulous items for the silent auction. Rodney Dangerfield, bless the funnyman, always gave me great memorabilia to auction off. It was a working ranch, with chickens, roosters, bunny rabbits, oranges, pomegrantes, lemons, avocados, figs, and other fruits that I can't remember. There was an old haunted barn, swimming pool and jacuzzi, 15 minutes from downtown LA. We sponsored 10 riders that year! From idea to benefit in 3 weeks time! The party was a huge success. A mini Woodstock, it even started to rain, in May, as the last band played!
I have been producing a public access TV show called "Can't Understand Normal Thinking" in Marina Del Rey, Ca. since I can remember, about 15-20 yrs. Maybe you've seen it, then again maybe you haven't. I love public access, there is no censorship, I can air whatever the HELL I want! I feature bands, performance artists, political activists, actors, Halloween, and just about anyone that wants to be on TV. That is anyone that shows up! It amazes me, how many people in this town, want to famous, or on TV, that flake at the last minute! I'm always looking for talent!
