About Me

Hi, I'm Ginger. Only personal-close friends call me by my first name. Here is a little story about me...If you don't know me,you should read BEFORE a friend request, because I'm getting tired of people requesting just for add, then exchanging "Thx 4 Da Add" comment...and that's it. That's not my way of making friends. For your band promotion,I'll be happy to listen to music and if I like it, I'll add or I WILL find my favorite music. I have more respect for my friends than one click. So please read "Who I'd like to meet"
*****Please send a message before friend request. Thanks and have a nice day!***** < Revolution >
One month after my birth, The Beatles made a debut with a single“Love Me Do”, and I'm not sure if that is a reason, but I love The Beatles all my life and music became love of my life. I went to England in '75. It was a short trip but I’m glad that I got to experience the music scene there in perfect time!
< Ticket to Ride >
I moved to USA. in‘78. Since music was a big part of my life, I had to go to a country where you can have all music you want, yeah, so moving to abroad was my next intention, so decided to go to high school in USA. and planned all kinds of excuse to convince my parents...
< Across The Universe >
First I lived in New York for 1 year and half. I got a culture shocked in the beginning, because there were so many other students from all over the world, but some were whom very impressive and friendly. Now there is a friend who met again at my space after 27 years! She totally blew me away!
After being so patient in NY, I finally got to moved to California Paradise in '80 where I always wanted to live since I was 14,I got into music more and more because of the healthy music environment in LA at the time.
< Magical Mistery Tour >
I started to write for the music magazines which was published in Japan. I wrote various articles of both new and famous artists as well as writing feature stories, live and album reviews.Living in LA in that era, LA metal was a big music scene.I love all kinds of rock music including some UK Pop, but all those bands were part of my wild youth. I also was working my role as Public relation for Japanese market at RATT's office in mid-80s.
Besides that, I have acquired a lot of valuable experiences such as taking many concert photos, reporting the Grammy Awards in '86 and etc. So my everyday life was so pleasant, and, thanks to splendid music and meeting great people. It was all of my youth. Of course though I am still at the height of youth!
Out of the blue...I moved to Australia in '87, I got married and I liked living in Melbourne a lot for 2 years but I yearned for work of music and came back to Los Angeles in '89.Then, besides writing for magazines, I was busy working for Japanese bands in studio recording. I interpreted to a producer, an engineer and the band members. so they can communicate and make a great album! It was tough being in the studio for a month or two, but working for 3 or 4 albums in a year made rest of my time as a vacation. I got to travel a lot!!!!
Soon afterwards, the music scene was not prosperous as much as before in Los Angeles. The industry declined obviously. So, some of music magazines which I was writing for had to call it's day, too.
< Get Back >
I decided to go back to Japan in '93 after living in overseas for 15 years, only because there were more things to do in Japan at the time, as I felt like music was pretty much done in LA, so I kept most of my belongings in the storage, and only meant to go away for 2 years or so, but I'm still stuck in Japan up to this day. In '93, I was offered to work in the main office of Tower Records, acted as the first female chief editor of free paper called BOUNCE (Japanese version of PULSE magazine)
After working for Tower Records, I undertook the task of being an artist manager for Kanako Nakayama who was a guitar player in the most successful female band in Japan called Princess Princess. We recorded a demo with Producer, Geza X in LA. She also covered“Hard Luck Woman”with Redd Kross for the Japanese version of KISS tribute.I'm so proud of her; she's been rockin’for over 20 years, and today, She has a band called "VooDoo Hawaiians".
From '98,I started to manage a really cool grunge,post-Punk co-ed band called“Orange Kandy". I got them signed to a record company, Victor Entertainment. And we toured 4 times in U.S.A. including SXSW and NXSW. With a big support of Beginheimmer from KROQ. The band was really really cool. I should put their video here some day.
My long time dear friend since late‘70s , Cherie Currie of The Runaways performed in Japan, summer of 2000 after 23 years since the famous“Live In Japan”album was released. I organized to bring her back, toured around Tokyo, Yokohama and Osaka together.
< Tomorrow Never Knows >
When Orange Kandy was disbanded in '01, and I left a music industry for a while, I was involved in 2 severe- horrible traffic accidents within 1 and 1/2 month. Since my lumber was smashed, I though I wasn't gonna be able to walk again, but I've recovered well, now I'm bouncing around like popcorn, as I recharged and resumed my spirits.
This has been my life..and it is so fulfilled at this moment;I found it worth living,Thank god!
< Here Comes The Sun >
I have a lot of interesting plans coming up to make people smile in the future. On, BTW, I left my heart in LA, so I've gotta go back! And I went and came back, recharged fully!
My next step is......
Got To Get You Into My Life......All Together Now...
Wanna join my party?

I'd like to meet:

*****WARNING!!*****Please READ below CAREFULLY***** Particularly people whom I have met in the past. I'd love to reconnect with my old friends, schoolmates or associates in the music industry.
Most of the people on my top friends list have been my real friends for many years, and some of them are from the late 70s.

Of course, new people "who has similar interests in music" are welcome too. HOWEVER, I'm only interested in having real communication with real friends. I'm not interested in simply adding people for the sake of adding them. We're not friends merely because you've been added to my page. My friends and I actually communicate and have common interests. I'm not interested in becoming one of your many friends in your collection, either. I at least want to be able to remember who my friends are on my friend space because it would be more polite.

PLEASE REMEMBER*** I'm very picky when it comes to choosing a friend, 'coz I want to be proud of my friends. So if I don't know you, please "SEND A MESSAGE FIRST" in order to get to know you better with words. That's called communication.
Then I'll check your profile to learn about you and if you impress me with your taste in music, your thoughts, character or the way you look... whatever, that's cool! Otherwise,I'm sorry if I don't add you. That means we don't belong...I guess nothing in common.

Please understand this is my way to look for quality friends. One day...I shall meet my other half, like John&Yoko. Who knows?
So, my space is a good place to keep my dear friends in touch, find old friends and make some new cool friends.Thank you!

Musically, The Beatles, The Runaways...and all my great musician friends!!
My friend for over 20 years,of The Runaways, the drummer Sandy West has passed away in October '06, after a long battle with lung cancer. I went to visit her 3 months before she flew to the heaven. The loss of Sandy has gave me many lessons. There was a time I though my life was so sucked, now I feel ashamed of myself for even thinking that way.
I know Sandy wanted to live, she said she wanted to play drums again, so I'm just so grateful for my family, many great friends, good health, and my life in magnificent surroundings etc….!
A memorial concert was held for Sandy on December 9th,2006 in LA. That was organised by her close personal friends and was hosted by Runaways' singer Cherie Currie.
And for Japan…it was something I had to do to show my respect for The Runaways Live in Japan in 1977, and for my friend, Sandy.
The proceeds was used for dedicating the memorial package of Sandy(DVD, Photos, T-shirts etc)to her family members as condolences from Japan.
***BTW, some people had asked me about my band..."Queens Of Noise". Well, that was only for the tribute show.I DON'T have a band, but my friends are.In 1992, two guitarists, basssist from this band and I have played with Sandy and Cherie at Coconit Teaszer, Hollywood. Very occasionally I do shows, play and compose music just for fun, y'know!
Saw KISS live in Budokan'76!Hell yeah!
Thanks for your visit, comment, message, friendship and love!
