The Aviators are a five-piece pop/rock band from Portsmouth. Since forming the band have
supported Thirteen Senses, Electric Soft Parade, The Leaves, JJ72, The Cazals, The Parlotones and The Fallout Trust.
They have performed to sell-out crowds at Portsmouth's Wedgewood Rooms, The Eastney Cellars, Southampton Joiners,
Portsmouth Pyramids Centre, The Clapham Grand, The Half Moon in Putney and also the Hi-Fi Festival along with
acts such as Ian Brown, Hard-Fi and the Super Furry Animals.
In summer 2006 the band recorded their E.P. 'Break, Recover', with Chris Brown (Producer/Engineer of such bands as Radiohead, Muse),
and their sound has been described as 'pop/rock albeit with an alt-country twist - the best
unsigned material we've received in a long time' by Music Week Magazine.
In April last year, the band were shortlisted for an Indy Award in the 'Virgin Xtreme Best Indie Act' category and attended the final gala ceremony.
November 2007 saw the band pick up joint second place in the "Best Pop/Rock" Category of the Portsmouth Evening News Guide Awards.
The Aviators have now moved to London and are currently gigging and have recently recorded new E.P. 'Casino'.
