The Hall Brothers

15 years of great acoustic music

About Me

Nick and Duncan are real brothers and have been playing music together and separately for as long as they can remember. They have played as The Hall Brothers for over 15 years (they celebrated that anniversary in 2006). In that time they have toured extensively in the UK, as well as Ireland and Holland, playing numerous concerts and festivals. They have also - either as the The Hall Brothers or in other projects - supported an eclectic array of acts over the years, including Fairport Convention, Show of Hands, Martin Carthy, Dr. and the Medics, Desmond Dekker and the Aces, The Wedding Present, Magna Carta, Colvin Quarmby amongst many others.
They have released numerous records: No Place on Earth (1995), Dark Waters (2001), Time and Tragedy (2002), Official Live Bootlegs (2003) and Songs from the Shore (2004). There is also the charity single, The Bradford Pals (2006) recorded with children from Holybrook Primary School, raising money for the Bradford Lord Mayor's Appeal (you can order/download this song from Confidential Records and contribute to the appeal.

Read reviews at NetRhythms .
Outside The Hall Brothers, Nick and Duncan have played as solo artists ( Nick still does) and fronted various other bands and been involved in other collaborations. See individual MySpace profiles for more details.
You can get hold of The Hall Brothers records from (mail order): Confidential Records
and (download)
Woven Wheat Whispers
Where you can also order Nick's solo ep Hurts Like Hell .
No awards for video editing here, but it's pleasant enough! This song, The Wander Thirst, is from our 2002 album, Time and Tragedy. Remember to stop any other music before playing (or it'll sound confusing!)

The Hall Brothers! (Stadium folk!)

"Over the years these two have matured into the finest singer-songwriters around" - Bradford Telegraph and Argus
"legendary" - The New Roscoe
"The Hall Brothers are an acoustic folk rock act with a fearsome live reputation! The Live in Leeds website describes them as 'legends'! They regularly team up with ex-Magna Carta violinist John Carey to perform music that ranges from beautiful ballads to up-tempo acoustic rock, while visiting the tradition (and flying fiddle tunes!) inbetween. The band provided support for bands as diverse as Fairport Convention, John Otway, Martin Carthy and The Wedding Present. Their albums (released through indie label Confidential Records) have all gained excellent reviews, with high praise heaped on their powerful vocals, intricate guitar work and thought-provoking, catchy songs. The Hall Brothers have wowed audiences across Britain, In Ireland and Holland and are now very happy to play the Black Sheep Festival for the third year running!" Black Sheep Festival
