The Voodoo Trash Dolls are Australia's first and certainly the most infamous neo-burlesque troupe! And now, after winning the Burlesque Battle Royale II, they're officially the Queens of Burlesque.
The Voodoo Trash Dolls are four female Melbourne-based performance artists. They are all professionally trained performers (some are even teachers of their fortes) who have extensive performance experience and have toured both nationally and internationally.
Voodoo Trash Doll shows give a totally unique blend of song, dance, acting and crazy props, including anglegrinders, knives, needles, poles, chairs, household appliances and much more. The Voodoo Trash Dolls, don't accept too much definition, but have been described on many occassions as Australia's most cutting edge modern burlesque troupe.
The dolls have appeared on DVDs, Australian and international TV, newspapers and magazines (CLEO, The Age, Herald Sun, Beat, Inpress, The Brag, Scene, BNews, MCV, The Star etc), radio stations, JJJ, RRR, PBS, 3CR, Joy, 4ZZZ etc and on TV, mainly wicked art and weirdo programs on Channel 31. The dolls have worked alongside some of Australia's most amazing cabaret and weirdo stars and bands!
