About Me

Matthew Semenic was born in the small chicago suburb of Lemont. Growing up on his dads' awesome collection of vinyls from the 60's and 70's, and his brothers amazing indie rock collection, Matthew had a wide variety of influences. Lemont may have been a small town but so much unbelieveable talent came out of it, and continues to do so. Great musicians, writers, vocalists, and audio wizards such as Pete Krisciunus, Brian Pawlikowski, Dave Delosier, Jim O'neil, Mike McCutheon, Matt Phelan, Anthony Gervasio, Mike Wiklatz, Joe Etzkorn, Johnny Ekkart and so many others(too many to name). These were some of Matthews' earliest encouters with true talent, and influenced a passion for music in him. Matthew had been writing poetry since the age of 12. His dad always had guitars around the house, his whole life. At 13, Matthew picked up a guitar and started fooling around with it and taught himself to play over the years but, not much happened for a while. At age 17, Matthew was singing with long time friend, Joe Flood, and recording on an old Tascam analog 4-track recorder. That's when it was discovered that he had a voice. So he took his poetry, picked up that guitar (1965 Alvarez Yari acoustic), and wrote his first song, "So What" . Since then Matthew has written over 200 poems and 30 songs, and keeps writing and exploring the depths of music, heart, soul, mind, and experience. So many other great artists and musicians have become close friends to Matthew, and the talent from the southwest suburbs just keeps exploding into this oddity of a beautiful chicago scene. This is only the beginning of something great. Peace, Love, Light, And Expression to all who grace this page. Your support and friendship make this experience all the more sweeter.Myspace Contact Tables
